Loose rocks and protruding roots make the steep trail somewhat challenging. Good balance recommended. It is a very long steep climb, so recommended for high energy kids and seniors with good cardio. Falls are worth the effort, even in low water times. Pools and cascades with tons of rocks to climb on.

I would not say it is an easy trail. more like moderate. Good steady uphill and it got our heart going. Took advantage of one of the seats on the way up lol. Rocks on the way down to the falls. The falls are awesome. Lots of rhodedendron along the way.

The trail itself isn’t much to look at. You climb up at a pretty good grade to get your heart going. It was a little muddy but not too bad. The water fall at the end was amazing. There were stairs to help get down to the water’s edge safely. There are plenty of rocks to climb and go farther down the falls. There were places to splash and get wet both right at the bottom of the stairs and farther down the falls. We even found a spot where the kids could slide a small bit.

Quick hike, steep uphill can get you winded but doesn't last long. Great warmup if your shape to go to another trail with more distance. Nice waterfall. Fairly easy with exception of hill.

Great morning hike! Really easy steady uphill walk! The ground was not too muddy from the rain last night. The waterfall was beautiful! Wonderful start to a Sunday! Beth P

Cool little trail with beautiful waterfalls at the end. Got some great pics as well. We had some light rain on the way down, but that is typical of the area.

This trail was not too long but very steep. Since it had rained recently it was muddy in places. The waterfall was worth it and our kids loved playing in it.

This trail was short and steeply uphill most of the way - my husband carried our 30 lb toddler in a hiking pack on his back, so we definitely had to stop and catch our breaths a few times! But the waterfall is gorgeous and worth it. It’s a good trail for young families with strict nap time schedules!

Worth the hike. I was confused trying to find parking and trailhead. Perhaps just me. Pull in and go left, Park diagonally (which was cumbersome, tip go to the end turn around then park), go to end of parking lot to access the trailhead. I would not say this is easy. Short but a hill that’s pretty steep nonetheless. However when you get there all worth it. Views and amazing as are the falls. I would say trip just for this. Was my 2nd hike on the way home from Elk Knob.

So beautiful! I would say it's moderate, not easy. However, I did have my 30 lb child strapped to my back, lol. The waterfall at the end was well worth the physical exertion!

The trail was very steep at the beginning and I would rate it as moderate and not easy. The waterfall at the end of the trail is very scenic and well worth the trek.

Popular trail, dog-friendly, wooden walkways at the end were a bit slippery, but very pretty falls.

It was a great trail with a beautiful waterfall BUT just know that the beginning is VERY STEEP. We had a four year old that couldn’t walk the entire time/we carried him half of the time.

Great trail! The first half is uphill, but it completely worth it when you get to the waterfall! Great place to take kids! They loved getting their feet wet in the cold water.

Very steep walk to the falls, first half has road noise and is more like a road. Once you get to the falls off the stairs it is pretty cool. Lots of rocks to play around on and you can get right in or near the water safely!

Both the parking area at the Valle Crucis Conference Center and the trail itself are well marked. The trail is relatively short, but with elevation gain. The waterfall is attractive, a long cascade with many drops.

This is a nice short hike. It's pretty steep for most of it and there are some lose rocky spots but its manageable for most people I would think. The falls at the end are worth the huffing and puffing though. Beautiful little spot with a decent little wading pool at the falls. I took my 2 dogs(puppy and a small sized dog) and they had no trouble getting around. I would recommend this hike for sure.

quick and easy hike - would probably characterize this as easy and not moderate. there is one steep incline of about 100 yards where the hike gets most of its elevation, beautiful Rocky waterfall view at the end. plenty of space to chill near the waterfall if you want to pack a quick lunch. good hike for dogs.

Nice hike with a good amount of varying terrain (rocks, wide path, bridge) given how little mileage it is. 2.5 y/o really enjoyed the bridge and waterfall. Benches along the way helps with accessibility.

This is my second time doing this hike very easy n short beautiful hike n waterfall is the treasure you find at end of the hike in the deep forest. Steep in some areas bit very doable with right foot gear. I went back so I could take my friend to see this beautiful place. We made ourselves some lunch from home and found a nice comfy stable rock to sit on and enjoyed a little picnic by the waterfall listening to the water sliding down the slick rocks into the abyss of the North Carolina jungle of treasures.
