Singletrack loop with little, if any, elevation gain. Mildy technical, but all levels of experience can have a great time. It can be rooty at times, but fun walking or mountain biking at speed. Please note that mountain bikes are not allowed on trails when they are wet.

I come here all of the time to walk while my brother bikes. There are different trails, in different difficulties, and it also feels very safe which I enjoy. Love it here! Also, around this time of year, watch for the tiny little frogs hopping around! They look like little bugs at first until you realize they are just tiny froggies :-)

I’d love to be part of a volunteer team to mark the trails. I used to find it easy to run here but the last two times I got lost in these trails. This is my favorite place in the Charlotte area to do trail running and mountain biking. It’s been a while, though, so I have to re-teach myself the way around the park.

Horrible signage. Got lost numerous times. Extremely muddy

Agreed with the reviews of this trail. This was a great trail for beginners but it’s poorly marked at forks in the road so it’s not clear which direction you should take. Otherwise, enjoyed being out on this trail and the scenery.

Overall an OK trail. Not very challenging, definitely closer to easy than moderate. I wish it were better marked at some points.

Nice hidden gem of a trail. Markings are somewhat sparse and there are many switchbacks through the trees. Several have been cut, so it can be daunting at times to tell exactly the right way to go. Good trail for those starting back into hiking after a hiatus due to the low elevation changes. My wife and I enjoyed it.

Good trial. A lot of trees so if you are looking for sun that won’t be probably the best option. Easy to follow with the app, keep in mi d it could be a bit muddy if rain was there even few days before, but great to spend half a day outside !

This is a fairly easy trail located in the heart of Matthews, NC, just outside of Charlotte. Trail is heavily traveled by local residents and town visitors alike. This is a mainly dirt trail but there are a few areas near public facilities that are asphalt or concrete. This is a “Full Service”‘ Mecklenburg County Park that gets a little assistance from the local volunteer Trailblazers organization, who maintains the mountain bike loops. This trek isn’t marked very well so pay attention while hiking ... or your little hike will end up being a big hike. There’s over 265 acres of land so plenty of opportunities for recreation. Trails are maintained very well and lake views are plentiful. Restrooms are immaculate and staff members are visible on occasion. Plenty of parking available even on weekends. Portions of the trail borders several local private communities, so you don’t get the feeling you’re “in the woods”. This is a well equipped park for all types of family activities and easily accessible. Good intermediate hike for beginners. Hike On !

I am lucky enough to live very close to this trail and get to run it with my master (mom) a lot. It’s especially great in the warm weather since it is mostly shaded. Only problem is mountain bikers can sometimes ride a little fast and don’t always yield to runners/hikers so be careful.

Good work out close to home that is mostly shaded. Trails aren’t marked great so it’s easy to get sidetracked on a smaller loop, but always find my way back to my car using this app. Dog friendly!

It’s s good variety of trail, gravel, rocky, roots, sandy, well paved and shady. The environment is quiet with very low noise from traffic/city. The signs indicating the route is very confusing and it’s easy to get lost, I have to stop severs times to understand where I was which breaks the rhythm of the walk.

It the bike trail closest to me. They have added lots of features recently. Surface is hardpack with sand in some areas. Roots wherever trees are close to the trail but plenty of places to gain and keep speed. There is a black diamond loop with larger features. All features have bypasses. There is one large jump. I hiked it today and that was not near as fun. All the hard pack isn’t all that enjoyable to walk on.

Quite a few muddy spots due to recent rain which is to be expected. Disappointed to see so many bikes out with strict 24hr no bikes after rain policy. Beautiful trail and would like see it stay that way.

Another beautiful night on the trail. Very few bikes and ran into only one other hiker.

Great trail to hit up if you like changing elevation and mild unevenness. Overall, I had a blast but it was a little muddy in places. It rained the morning of my hike which worked out great because bikes are not allowed on the trail when it is wet. I will definitely hike this again.

Solid trails. They have lots of rocks and roots so be aware as you run. Make sure to follow marked signs (running opposite of the MTB loops) for the safest experience. Everyone I've ever passed/been passed by has been courteous and friendly.
