Clarks Creek Greenway is a 5.4 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Charlotte, North Carolina that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Great trail to walk along the creek and listen to the calming sounds emitted from small waterfalls. During certain times of the year, areas of the pavement are covered in mud from flood residue. Nice bike paths with several bridges. You can go into the creek and might see crawfish and salamanders. The whole trail is mostly shaded and the drawn route is nicely paved. If you continue into University Research Park, the trail turns into packed gravel. Accessibility: There are 4 designated handicapped-accessible spaces in the paved parking lot at Mallard Creek Elementary. All of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved, smooth, and typically at least 8 feet wide. The estimated grade is mostly gentle (all 5% or less) except for steep section (8-12%) at 0.1 miles going downhill when going west/uphill at 5.3 miles going east and 2.6 miles going downhill when going north/uphill at 4.1 miles going south. The steep sections have been marked with waypoints. Wheelchair/mobility equipment or stroller users may need assistance or to avoid these sections. There are benches along the trail for resting.
Awesome ride. I did crash. Two ladies helped me get back in the road. I kept riding. thanks ladies
wonderful neighborhood Greenway, great for a smooth walk, run, or bike ride. fairly flat, paved path.
Solid greenway. Easy parking at Mallard Creek Elementary. Crowded on the weekends (but lots of good dogs). Awesome to walk along the creek and listen to the calming sounds emitted from small waterfalls. Some areas of the pavement are covered in mud from flood residue.
Awesome trail, great experience, just remember your way to and from the start. Can easily get turned around
great nice walk but definitely longer than advertised. idk where some of these people track their workouts because they are way off.
Rode this trail and added Mallard Creek Greenway to it. Greenway was great, even on an 85+ degree day due to all the shade.
we were looking for somewhere to play in the creek and this was perfect for us! we saw crawfish and tiny salamanders. it was crowded with lots of people and dogs and cyclists.
