Hiked about 5 miles yesterday. Great forest with some older trees and some beautiful undergrowth as well. The Rock Creek trail was the most beautiful part, I thought, although isn’t listed on All Trails. Much less traveled then some other local hiking options (thinking of those around the Eno River).

Probably my favorite trail in the Triad. Several paths of varying lengths and difficulties, and essentially shaded through its entirety. Lots of bugs, and horses will exacerbate any muddy parts. Markings can sometimes be confusing, so be sure to bring your AllTrails app.

Enjoyed this trail with my sister. Both of us are rookie trail riders. Not a bad day trip, maps were available, trail marking were not bad, they must have updated them. The level of difficulty wasn’t bad either. Will be going back soon. Horses got a good workout also.

Six miles through the woods, muddy in places, but you have an alternate path to get around most of the time. Regarding wildlife, spotted a seven foot black snake, lots of birds, and lots of bugs, mosquitoes and flies. Horse manure spotty and not too bad. This would be a great trail for a trail run when dry. Nice ups and downs and a few creek crossings where you can rock hop. Did not see a horse all day and far away from the crowds. I accessed it from the green trail at the first concrete bridge; instead of going across the bridge, take a right and go up the hill which gets you onto the orange loops. Markings across open areas could be better. Overall an ok hike.

There's a hiking trail that crosses with the horse trail. It was really nice. Beautiful scenery. Not too hilly. Roughly 2 miles. Just watch out for horseflies!

Great trail. Markings not always clear. We lost the orange bridle trail, got on the green hiking trail and could not find the orange bridle trail again. Hiking bridges not suitable for horses.
