Bring bug spray! The loop trail is simple and easy to follow, you can’t get lost. There are lots of access points to the lake and bathrooms at the trailhead. There is a fishing pier. The path is clear with lots of tree roots. I went on a Monday around 7pm, there were about 8 other groups out on the trail and enjoying the shore line. Made it around the loop in less than 30 minutes walking at a leisurely place. Saw a few people walking dogs and fishing. There are picnic tables and grills all around the loop, and a covered pavilion at the trail head. Parking is paved with 30ish spots. A majority of the trail is flat forest ground, some paved.

Easy hike but very pretty and peaceful. Amazing greenery and the lake was nice.

Very scenic trail, lots of opportunities to stop for a minute and take the beautiful lake Catawba.

Nice scenic short trail that outlines the peninsula in Latta Plantation Park. The trail is woody, with great views of Lake Catawba. Do this trail with your children and bring your fishing pole if you have a little time. Nice place for a short day hike.

This park is beautiful. I took my dog here it was a beautiful day in December. This trail itself is really small I think it's .36miles total but I'm not 100% sure. There are other various trails I believe throughout latta the same size or larger. This trail is kind of a joke- it isn't even really marked. There's also a creepy memoir where a person died? I'm not sure - just assuming due to the nature of the objects by the trees and the photo/prayer posted. I love latta but this trail sucks.

A short and easy loop, with wonderful views as it follows along the edge of the lake for much of the distance. It is very family and dog-friendly, and is easy to combine with many other trails at the Latta Plantation Nature Preserve.

I suggest to park at the canoe launch, take the Audubon and the Cattail loops. Bathrooms are in the middle. about an hour. east hike, watch for roots.

Easy trail next to the water...short loop with pretty scenery. We did the Audubon loop which was a little more challenging but still easy with better views of the water.
