We did this hike on a Tuesday morning and it was a wonderful hike! Not super strenuous, nice wide trail along the river and several smaller falls to look at on the way to the top. The falls at the top are seriously some of the most beautiful I have seen! Not a long hike, so our 8 year old did great and loved wading in the water at the top. Definitely a must do if you are in the area.

The "hike" to the lower falls is a breeze. Bring the kids and dogs, but do keep an eye on them as the left side of the trail is a steep, rocky, and long descent should one fall. The path can get muddy and slippery with rain. The lower waterfall is a marvel. There is a second leg of the trail that goes to an upper falls, but this portion of the trail is much more strenuous and very steep. For this portion, leave the children and dogs home. There are four areas that require a rope for climbing up and rappelling down, and it can be very slick. Supposedly, the trail can be accessed from the top and you can work your way down from the upper falls to the lower, but this would involve gaining entry into a gated community somehow.
