Unreal loop - you'll hike though every terrain you can find in NC. Would recommend hiking the loop clockwise, the opposite way that the trail markers indicate, so that you can follow the creek downstream for a lengthy portion of the hike. You can also take a low-key trailhead right across the Blue Ridge Parkway from the Price Lake Parking Lot, which will spit you out on the BTF after about 50 yards.

Great trail and perfect length for a moderate loop. Some creek crossings and a hidden gem (waterfall) about halfway through. Great for the family!

Great trail. Moderate at points. It has a little of everything. Yes Julian Price park is closed and gates. But we just parked in the field on the outside of the fence. We were first ones there in morning but by time we were done about 50 other cars did the same thing. Hiking the trail clockwise is the best option as others have mentioned has you get the boring parts done early. Lots of creak crossings but no major issues as plenty of rocks etc to avoid getting feet soaked. Some muddy spots but again nothing major. Fun hike along the river and nice changes of terrain

Pulled up to the entrance today (Nov 8th) and a sign on the closed gate said closed for the season. You can park at the price lake parking lot down the street and hike across the street onto the trail. Trail was great.

Great trail with lots of opportunities to get photos and enjoy the nature! Wear appropriate shoes as there are a lot of creek crossings. Beautiful scenery and moderately challenging.

Hiked it today & loved it! There’s a lot of up & down & rocks to step on, along with plenty of leaves being down so be cautious. We passed so many kind people along our hike which made it even more enjoyable. Hebron Falls is located along this trail- it’s a hike down & a hike back up but well worth it! There’s a lot of stream & creeks crossings you’ll have to do also so wear appropriate shoes!

Muddy and lots of creek crossings. Would recommend boots. Dog had a blast. Park in Price Park picnic area, and start out clockwise behind the bathrooms.

This is just about a perfect definition of Moderate. Loops are always cool if they have varied terrain and are well marked. This one has it all. Follows water and includes falls for much of the first half. Multiple bridges and overhangs with stream crossings easily navigable (as long as it hasn’t rained a bunch) Then gifts you with a spectacular meadow toward the end. Takes about 2 hours or 3 if you stop for a meal.

Great trail loop; a surprise around every turn, waterfalls, small rock scrambles, creek crossings, bridges, ladder/steps. Beautiful, lush with several rock formations.

Great trail! We hiked it clockwise based on others' recommendations, and it was the right choice. Lots of wet footing, so wear waterproof boots.

Nice trail, especially if ur staying in the campground. This trail is well marked with markers at the mile and half mile points to let you know your progress. I hiked it clockwise, saves the more interesting things til closer to the end if you want to spend some time in the water or something. One word of caution, don't do what I did near where the MTS splits off. When I came around the corner and saw that really nice metal bridge I continued right over it and never saw the sign pointing right for the BFT. After not seeing any orange blazes I checked All Trails and it told me I was off route!
