Some very rude people walking around this private lake. Not to mention the $100 permit required to walk a dog. Mask required at all times and plenty of folks to say rude and demeaning things to you if you take it off when not around others. It’s private so at the end of the day they make the rules, but I would highly recommend walking literally any other place in Asheville.

Fewer crowds this visit @ 2-3 on warm Friday afternoon. Trail is more sun than shade but some nice wooded areas. Saw snake, birds, turtles, fish. Some road noise but not overwhelming.

I use this trail for an easy walk after long hikes or on days it’s hard to go far out of town, it’s a park.

Peaceful trail with some mud. Love the view of the lake from different angles. More of a walk than a hike.

Great little trail if you’ve got young kids. We enjoyed looking for birds and just walking around the lake.

This trail is muddy in some spots but overall a nice family trail. My kids love it. This trail is all-terrain stroller friendly.

Minimal mud lots of small stumps. Fairly heavy use probably bc of COVID-19. Fun run. Decent elevation for a beginner.

This is an ok option for a quick and urban hike or jog. It’s often muddy around the eastern side and the lake park requires a permit to walk dogs.

I was looking for a place in town to get a nature fix. The trail is fine, probably a couple of miles? The sights around the lake are lovely. There’s traffic noise the whole way. The signage for the loop around the lake wasn’t there. I got some help from others. Just so you know head towards the left side of the parking lot and you’ll find the trail. The boardwalk in the wetlands is short, but a nice option for people with mobility issues. Asheville lacks a good trail system in town. The nearby mountains make up for it. If you’re looking for a quick fix or a run around a lake this will do.

Not super busy 2 mile loop w wildflower meadow and nice views across the lake. Gravel trail w runners and dog walkers. Mountain pond neighborhood environment more so than secluded away-from-it-all wilderness. Seems well maintained for a privately owned and managed park - intriguing how that works and what local leadership has kept it afloat and what protections run w the land (is it protected by conservation easement or not?) curious what will come of this spot a few decades from now

This is an easy in city walk with about 25% in the woods where you have to look out for tree roots. The other 75% is a breeze. Expect some muddy spots after a rain.

Traveling and wanted out to see some beauty. I took this basic trail around the loop twice. It is easy to find with beautiful views. Highly recommend for a quick hike/walk.

Moderately high traffic depending on the time/day but easy in-town stroll. decent and flat running route but there is a section in the woods to watch out for roots

Love beaver lake, my fiancée and I walk around the lake when we are bored during the week. It’s very easy and relaxing. There is a lot of foot traffic but nothing that makes it impossible to walk. The half of the trail away from the road is not graveled but very easy to walk on. If you are an outdoor runner this is a great loop!

Beware if you are hiking with a dog. You need s local permit to be on this trail! Other than that, it was pretty, easy suburban hike around a lake.

Nice level walk around Beaver Lake. Sections can be muddy other sections are gravel. The lake is surrounded by homes and a main road on one side, so this is not out in nature away from everything, though there is a lot of nature there. There is a bird sanctuary at the East end of the lake with some boardwalks to walk on.
