Great soft trail. Little crowded (Sun morning holiday weekend), but manageable). Last part of trail is under construction. But there’s a sidewalk right next to it that’s open.

Nice trail! Beautiful view of the water. It’s very wide and has a soft walking surface. It’s good for kids. If you start at the visitor center it’s a little steep at the end of the trail but it’s not too bad.

This is an excellent trail. The fall foliage is fantastic, especially looking toward Moses Cone Manor. Trail around lake is very well maintained and there are bathrooms if needed. The lake loop is handicapped wheelchair accessible. I love side trails as well. Moses Cone Manor has trails to connect Flat Top Mountain for excellent vistas and a forest observance tower if one would like to climb. There is a trail connecting Moses Cone Manor to Trout Lake. In addition, there are trails connecting Moses Cone Manor to Bass Lake.

Amazing trail. Nice and wide. Well maintained. Would get 5 stars if it was fully completed. There is a portion near the road that isn’t done yet so I had to take the sidewalk the rest of the way. It wasn’t long but enough to take one star off. Will be back.

I went about 430pm today and only met 2-3 couples along the way. The parking lot was full but I think they were inside. Walked around getting some great simple nature shots on my camera. Near the end, the trail is being worked on so you walked alongside the road to get back. Just as I entered the parking lot, I stepped BOTH feet into someone's dog poo. I was NOT happy. People, pick up after your dog! Other than that, it was very nice.

Nice little trail to bring the kids on! Mostly in the shade. Part of the greenway at the end is closed, so getting back to the main entrance requires a brief treck in the sun on the edge of a busy road. Still a good choice!

Fun family trail around a beautiful lake. Relatively flat except for one area. Mulched path keeps Trail fairly dry.

Excellent trail. It rained all day the day before I hiked, but because the trail has so much mulch/leaves it was spotless and not muddy at all. Great for running!

One of my favorite spots to hike and run. This trail is constructed with all fitness levels in mind, as well as family friendly. Safe and well traveled. Trail is dirt, overlayed with mulch, which is nice for running. Compliments to the staff, very well maintained.

Great for walking and running with my 4 yr old. We like to visit the little nature center after going around the trail and pick up a little ice cream cone or drink. Great prices. In the summer we rent canoes- not available the rest of the year. I wish you could bring your own kayaks, but you can’t.

Beautiful hike on a mulched trail. Great Lake views, perfect for a short hike.

Don't forget to stop at the park's office and see the little nature museum. My only complaint is that the trail can be overcrowded on weekends and holidays with strollers and packs of people. The Sugg Farm area is more rugged and "officially not open" (according to the signs) but has lots more trails. Just keep you eyes open for copperheads and spider webs in summer.

Very nice trail. It is well maintained, the path is wide enough for two small groups to easily pass each other head-on while walking/running 2 abreast. The walking path is covered with mulch most of the way, so runners have a soft, but firm surface that removes some of the body pounding of the activity. The one shortcoming of the route is that while it is possible now to make a complete loop around the lake, which is contrary to what some of the online brochures state, one has to run/walk next to the busy road for a little less than a quarter mile on the part of the trail that crosses the dam, near the park entrance. That was the bad news. The good news is that while walking along that part of the path, one can see the very nice path that will soon cut through the woods and remove the necessity of walking next to the road to complete a loop.

by far my favorite trail in holly Springs!!! beautifully maintained and spacious. park does not open until 8am however.

My favorite local running trail! It’s well-maintained year-round and is fantastically cushy thanks to its sawdust lining. Long enough to really get into and enjoy the scenery.

Great facility! A beautiful and easy 2 mile walk around the lake. Lots of turtles sunbathing. So scenic and serine.

easy, almost 2 mile loop trail. soft wood mulch, one small incline. similar to lake pine and bond lake trails, but a little more wooded. yes, facilities. benches thru out trail, mileage markers, even small nature center w/snakes & turtles.
