HikingRocky

I’d call this more of a walk in the woods and a scenic Trail. The first part of the walk coming in off of the Blue Ridge Parkway is Rocky and rooty but easily passable. When you get to the switchbacks, they are very steep and very narrow. Today they were a little slick because of the fallen leaves, you just have to make sure your feet are planted well. Not a bad hike.

Only did about half this trail starting on the BRP. Ran out of time will come back. A nice higher elevation trail with that freshness and humidity you can taste.

I started at the top and went down to the waterfalls and back up. Tough climb going up but beautiful! Several trees down but nothing I couldn't easily climb over. The flowers were gorgeous.

Long climb up from Curtis Creek Campground to parkway. Downed trees on Bald Knob. Snooks Nose was in great shape.

Starting to get a little over grown. But it was a quick moderate/hard hike. You can’t park at the bottom so you have to do from the BRP down and backup. Good workout. I’ll be going back in the winter when the trees are bare. Probably some great winter views.

We started at MM 355 on the BRP and hiked the trail in reverse as the road to the trail head was closed. In retrospect it turned out better as the hallway point was at the stream, which made for a nice spot to rest up. A few spots on the trail are getting filled in with brush but overall a good hike.

Did this up and back trail in reverse starting from the BRP . Nice trail especially pretty at the top under the pines. Nice workout on the way back up. May have some views once the leaves fall. A creek with small waterfall is at the bottom.
