Significant steps on this trial. Limited views and probably little to no views during the summer

Good hike, the ground was frozen in the morning but got slick a little before noon when it warmed up

We hiked this trail mid-morning on a very chilly day after snow a few days before. We were hoping for a nice snow hike. We were not disappointed. The first 0.5 mile was muddy, but once we got above 4000 ft., it was nice and snowy and frozen and great solitude hiking. Only saw a few people the entire hike. If you are hiking for summit views, this isn't your hike. If you are hiking for winter views and solitude, this is it.

This is a pleasant hike with solid, steady elevation gain on the out portion. No real views to speak of other than the High Rock overlook. Good for a quiet and contemplative hike.

Hiking

I enjoyed the solitude and difficult of this hike. A few decent ascents, but nothing overly challenging. Appropriately rated as moderate for a casual, but regular hiker :) Definitely take the side tour to high rock- it’s the only real view and it’s a great one but it is a little slippery so be careful!!

Moderate but quiet hike. I’m sure it’s busier during thru hike season. Very well maintained.

Very quiet aspect of the AT, leaves are off trees but still limited viewing on ridge. Nice ascent for a steady workout.

Beautiful hike easily accessible for day hikes from Sam's Gap. The ONLY drawback is the subtle reminder of I-26 most of the way to a High Rock, where we had lunch.

Steady uphill the whole way for a good workout, but you’ll have no views to reward you for the trek. Went to the “high rock” viewpoint and there was too much overgrowth to see anything. There was also a big spot that was really soft and gave easily there, which is scary when you’re basically on a cliff edge.

Needed a short trail to hike to miss a storm. It’s the AT so the trail was wide and well maintained. There was ample parking on other side of the I-29 bridge. It is a steady uphill climb but only a few short steep sections. Took the Blue Blaze trail to high rocks. It is a short walk to a small out cropping. Very nice view and worth the walk.

Beautiful trail. Moderate is accurate. Stop at High Rock for a great view. Not crowded at all on this Saturday afternoon. Great breeze over the ridge most of the way.
