Dedicated to the memory of Margaret Abbey Foy Moore, the Foy family has placed 67 acres of undeveloped land into the Coastal Land Trust. It will be used for educational school programs, birding and hiking. As you leave the parking areas, you'll enter the forest across from the livestock barns and enjoy walking along high and dry trails that wind down toward the pond. A short walk will take you on a return trip up the sandy road towards the house. A longer walk will take you across the dam to double back through the woods along the outflow stream and return along the sandy run.

The trails were a bit to follow, they are poorly marked but the park is almost impossible to get lost in. I jumped around from trail to trail and around the gorgeous lake, to try and make the trip longer. The hike isn’t very long but if you walk everything it’s worth the trip. The only issue is all of the stupid dog owners. My dog and I went on a Saturday and no one had their dogs on leash, which meant dogs sprinting up and barking at my dog for almost the entire trip. Crowded on the weekends.

Wonderful hike with beautiful weather. Be wary of the trail markers though, it's very easy to get off trail.

Went this morning, nice, shady trail. Saw a huge water moccasin in a tree stump in the pond. Great walk!

A pretty nice trail!! It was busy, with lots of people and their dogs but still a good little walk around.

A nice stroll type trail. Simple, easy walking. Lots of people on the Sunday that I went. Most had larger sized dogs running free, but behaving themselves. Not very long or strenuous, but definitely the kind of trail most people can walk.

This is a great trail for walking, hiking or running. There is plenty of free parking and it is just off of Highway 17 N.
It is fee free and was dedicated by a great family at the request of their beautiful Daughter. She wanted to share and preserve nature for all to enjoy. We just wanted to say thank you to a wonderful and selfless family. We love Abbey Nature Preserve. Especially the beautiful bridge over the lake and all the benches along the way. We also love the swing, stone wheels and bird houses.

The best trail in and around Wilmington. It might be short but if you have a good dog, they can run and interact with other dogs and not be near roads. Mosquitoes aren't usually too bad. And the pond is nice to enjoy on both sides.

Great place for the pups to walk on or off leash, and passed many other walkers and runners. Nice and easy.

If you're looking to get away from it all and immerse yourself in the wild, this is not your place. However, it is great for dog walking, trail running, or just getting out of the house on a nice afternoon. Trails are easy and suitable for all skill levels. The scenery is great, especially in the fall. It takes you through several different varieties of forest environment. It can get a little busy on nice days, but overall a good place for some enjoyable hiking

Beautiful trails, very well taken care of! It's nice to see all the different areas, and everyone who was walking around was friendly and mindful of their dogs. Dogs are allowed off leash but it didn't seem to be a problem! Definitely going back!

Nice little looping trail with wide pathways and a long bridge over a scenic pond. Decent amount of foot traffic but nothing crazy, and our pup loved meeting all the other dogs on the trail.
