The trail leading to the loop is fairly simple. With wood planks covering the later half of the trail. The main loop is notorious for getting muddy. And the northern part of the trail. Can be dangerous if you leave the trail. As its only a thick carpet of vegetation stopping you from going into the water. And bring your bug repellent.

My family, including two 6 year olds and a 3 year old, really enjoyed this trail. No rain this summer means it wasn't very muddy and only a little buggy. There are sections where we could tell it could be wet and boggy. Other sections have great forest views with very tall trees, mossy ground and a variety of mushrooms. There were quite a few trees over the trail and a few sections on the boardwalk that were partially grown over, but the trees on the trail are marked with white paint so we did not get lost. Watch out for ground bees! My whole group got stung when we bothered a nest about 1/4 of the way around the loop to the right. Not fun, but we will definitely be walking this trail again but keeping a careful eye out for those bees!

This trail can be very difficult, if its been raining. As the loop trail can get severally muddy. And is home to a ton of bugs.
