Wolf Creek Falls White Trail Loop is a 2.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Altamont, New York that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This trail is part of the Mohawl Hudson Land Conservancy. It's a 138 acre parcel nestled out in the town of Knox (a short drive from Altamont). The portion of the trails to the West of RT253 contains beautiful field stone walls that remain some of my favorite in the area. These are probably best for walking as the trail is never too far from the lot and is perhaps a bit short for enjoying much of a run.
Yup.
From Altamont, take Bozenkill Road (253) West for about 3 miles. Parking lot is on the left.
Nice winter's walk on soft snow. Only saw one other person on the trail today. There's a nice waterfall view just a short ways off the white path.
Nice set of trails that straddles Bozenkill Road. Snow and ice in the ground but no need for snowshoes.
Muddy/slippery in spots, but over all well maintained and clearly marked.
Small parking lot, map in kiosk of total area, well marked trails, waterfalls, peaceful.
Trail blaze colors differ from what Alltrails map shows. Poor cell service. Download map if you can before leaving home. Confusing. Falls were dry, but rock wall and stream bed have some visual appeal, too. Red trail crosses stream, a little difficult to see. Pleasant walk.
Well there were no waterfalls… Maybe next time. There were some beautiful stone walls though. Probably a beautiful walk in the fall and will be back.
Well marked trails. Waterfalls were down to a trickle even after hard rain yesterday.
nice trail system but the waterfalls would be been better after rainfall. less than atrickle today.
a bunch of intersecting trails so having a pic of the trail map at the sign in is good. We did both white loops, the purple, and red trails. Easy walking, signs of mud but it was all dried up when we were walking (a good amount of rocks and logs for crossing though). lots of ledges for waterfalls in the creek but the water wasn't really running when we were there. Well maintained and pretty wide trails with some poison ivy on the sides. All in all a nice easy walk.
Nice trail. Use map trail. Stream with multiple small waterfalls though surprisingly dry after yesterday’s storms. Nice trail with our inexperienced dog
