This trail is part of the Mohawl Hudson Land Conservancy. It's a 138 acre parcel nestled out in the town of Knox (a short drive from Altamont). The portion of the trails to the West of RT253 contains beautiful field stone walls that remain some of my favorite in the area. These are probably best for walking as the trail is never too far from the lot and is perhaps a bit short for enjoying much of a run.

Well marked trail with chris crosses so map helpful. Nice creek with waterfalls and old stone walls. Cons: moderately trafficked on narrow paths at times. Loud hikers, off leash dogs.

Great easy hike with many different options. The trails are well marked but it helped to have a picture of the trail map to reference for different routes. Beautiful small falls. Mud was dried up and trails are very well maintained.

We had a wonderful time on this trail with two young kids. A little muddy but mostly flat with roots. The waterfalls are beautiful and since the creek isn’t too swollen, they were easy to get over. We got there around 9-10am and no one was there. The parking lot was full when we left around 1pm.

It was very muddy in some low sections of the trail, but it has also rained for the few days leading up to my trip. The rain did make for heavy waterfalls which were beautiful. I will definately go again to do more of the trails I skipped due to the mud.

Not a bad hike, easy and great for kids. Had lunch at one of the waterfalls, perfect spot for lunch.

Very nice trail. Based upon the reviews on All Trails I printed out a trail map before heading out. The trail map helped out quite a bit. It’s nice to see where you’re at on a map. I agree with all the other reviewers that the western side of the trail - the trail across the road - is very beautiful. I did enjoy the trail on the east side of the road. With the trail map the markers made sense, without the trail map I probably would’ve been confused. Fully intend to do this trail again.

Hiked here yesterday with my 3 year old daughter to see the waterfall. To get to the waterfall from the parking area, you have to cross the road and walk down the road a little ways past the house on the left. The red trail marker is on a pole just past that house, near the guard rail. Short hike to the waterfalls. However, at one point there is a small waterfall and the creek. The trail continues on the other side of the creek and there's a big tree that you have to balance yourself on to cross the creek (the creek was probably about 12 inches high and flowing fast when we were there so we were very careful not to fall in!). Once we crossed to the other side, there were more waterfalls and the "big" waterfall. Trail was easy to do after that and only muddy in a few spots. There are lots of signs on the trails directing you back to the parking lot or you can keep walking along the different trails.

What a beautiful trail! It didn't rain The past few day so obviously muddy but there was huge puddles not able to walk through, able to walk around off trail. The trail was poorly marked. Definitely needed a map. Started on the white trail then turned to green trail.on map but was marked yellow on trail. Than had to.go on blue to red but no red markers insight until you crossed the creek. Beautiful waterfalls We enjoyed the hike

The trail is well marked but it's easy to get turned around on the different trails. The falls are beautiful. If you just want to see the falls, cross the road and there's a red marker, a bit hard to see. The falls are maybe a half mile or so from the road. Some parts of the trail were pretty muddy but doable, especially with hiking boots.

***There are trails on both sides of the main road. The trails on the same side of the parking lot are nice, but the trails across the street are the ones you need to be on. It can be confusing- on the other side of the road, there is a house. The trail starts towards the right of the house. You can’t tell until you walk over(watch for cars). You will see a small, short pole with a red marker on it. This is the beginning. The trail is great. Lots of waterfalls, and beautiful trails. Great for kids. Enjoy!

EXTREMELY muddy! The 'waterfalls' are 3-5 feet tall. If you used the word waterfall for this trail, don't bother. It was a beautiful area with some really cool rock fencing left from an old sheep farm.

Very muddy. My daughter almost lost her shoe 3 times, but it was an easy stroll through the woods. Also, when I hear water fall, I think at least higher than steping off a coffee table. Beautiful area all the same

Lightly trafficked and great for an easy afternoon hike with the dog. Lots of spots to stop and dip your feet in the water or let the dog cool off. Muddy in places but nothing unbearable or unexpected this time of year. Lots of tree roots on the trail so maybe not the best for running.

It was a little muddy when we went, but I loved the babbling brook!

As a lot of other reviews state, the trails could be marked a bit better. They’re a little muddy after all the rain we have had, which is to be expected. If you’re looking for the waterfalls, you need to take the red trail across the road from the parking lot. Then the easiest way I found is to keep taking any trail going to the right to stay along the creek.
