Follow the Western Ridge Trail (yellow disks) west from the parking area. Initially its fairly flat but soon begins a moderate climb towards the ridge. At about 1.4 miles the WR will combine with the Cottage Park Trail (orange disks) for a short distance. At about 1.6 miles take the Ridge Run Trail (red/pink disks) and follow it through the woods, across the ridge to the Moreau Lake Overlook. Stay on the RR trail until about 3.2 miles when it junctions with the Baker Trail (green disks). The Baker trail will take you back to the parking area.

We ignored the Wind Advisory and the light accumulation of snow and headed out to Moreau State Park for some fresh air! The hike up the Western Ridge Trail (yellow disks) was fantastic in the fresh, crisp air. Leaf fall made the trail a little slick but nothing unmanageable. It's a great hike up and through the woods with a lot of diversity. There is a some snow accumulation (11/10/2018) on the northern side and in low spots, but trails are easy to navigate without microspikes.

Met a couple of hunters along the trail, so remember to wear bright colours during hunting season.
