It was a good hike, however the waterfall was disappointing. I was expecting a little more, it was still a nice hike though!

Nostalgia. This was a beautiful creek hike I did many times as a child. Ruined by people littering and getting themselves stuck or hurt down in the gorge. Really quite a shame. The falls was beautiful, and evolved over time. Does anyone remember the giant rock that used to sit at the top of the falls and the "cave" it created below it? Then the giant log, that someone tied a rope to so you could attempt to climb it with the water beating down on you? What an amazing place, the grooves in the creek bottom were very interesting too. Little"shoots" that propelled you fast down the stream. We also joked that it wasn't zoar valley, but soar valley. Good times

Hiking is ok. Waterfalls are a little disappointing. Still, not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Nice hike 9/30/12 from the first parking lot off Point Peter (the dead end street) down into Valentine Flats. Good trail marked with orange blazes, taking about 45 minutes at a steady pace. The climb out was easy, even for an old guy, taking almost 60 minutes.
We saw a Bald Eagle just after climbing out, at another stop about 3 miles south of the trail head.
