The loop on the dunes was really nice. We walked the rest of the by the water instead of following the trail.

Great trail. Did the smaller loop with my 4 y.o. and he was fine on his own. No bugs at all in late April. Amazing views all around. Try to go early in the morning if you want seclusion, as it gets popular on nice days.

Lovely trail, great plant life to look at. Loop ends with a walk along the water!

Mea culpa...should have read the reviews on bugs. Horrible mosquito conditions even with a 10+ mph wind. We cut the hike short.

This is a very quick trail. Easy enough for small kids to do. Was VERY buggy, a lot of mosquitos. We had to reapply bug spray frequently. Trail comes out at the harbor which is a red sand beach. Nice for a quick walk.

I really liked this trail. The dunes weren't that impressive, especially compared to dunes in other parts of the country. But the early part of the trail was pretty unique. The little trees with brown leaves growing in the sand with the dunes on either side. It made me think of some kind of video game land or something. A bunch of ladies picking cranberries on a north part of the trail. Pretty fun little trail

This trail was a nice quaint walk. I enjoyed this trail with my family and we think it’s a good trail for young families and introducing hiking to young ones. Be sure to pick up the pamphlet at the beginning of the hike and read the information that corresponds to the number on the marker as you make your way through the trail. Walking in the sand was a little challenging but it was only about a mile.

Beautiful views, fascinating area to walk through. Amazing way to see the north side of Montauk .We brought our 8 mo old puppy in early Nov and she loved it. Very easy walk in sand 95% of the time, so you could do it in flip flops. Great time, not hard, fun. There is some short elevation up and down through sand. Highly recommended for kids, dogs, and photos. Looked like parking for only 4-6 cars. (I went in off season, so there may be more parking along the road in season, not sure) We loved it and only passed one other small group. It took us 1hr.

Coming east make a left at the tennis look for trail on right. Park on the road. Trail climbs up into woods and dunes. All of the trails in Hither Woods can be ridden in some kind of loop this system can take you all the way to Fort Pond Bay.

Nice walk. A little boring off of the beach. Aside from water, there's not much to see.
