Some of the trails mapped on are definitely overgrown and perhaps retired. Other new ones, unmapped, have been put in.

Clear, woodsy, relatively flat along a lot of it - probably good for cross country skiing when the snow hits!

Not a bad flat trail. My youngest just about walked the whole time. The bugs were pretty bad.

If you’re looking for a low traffic area this is good. Many of the smaller trails are overgrown. The new trail out towards MacElroy is in the best shape. A few raised wooden platforms over some wetland areas are on good shape. Did not find the cul de sac at the end however and seems to continue to private land although not posted. Not bad for a one time explore.

Tree down on one of the paths and had to turn around. A little muddy, but tolerable.

I had a delightful early morning walk (not quite a hike) that was tranquil and lovely on this trail. It’s is spring at its prime this time of year. The trails are well taken care of and marked. I only saw a single person so social distancing was easy!

Not much to see, but a very pleasant low-traffic trail.

This was a very easy trail; no mud, only slightly overgrown for a very short bit, no sharp inclines or declines. It happened that the weather was perfect (68 degrees, dry for several days, sunny, low humidity), so my only complaint was something that can’t be fixed: it is an out-and-back trail. This is a beautiful forested trail, well marked and well taken cared of.

The loop trail is just ok, with muddy, uninspired short trails that are confusing and poorly marked. The one lovely bright spot is the Mooney Carrese Forrest trail (well-marked with yellow/green plastic arrows) that leads southwest for almost a mile. Oddly, it's not drawn on the AllTrails map, but you can see it on the map at the park. It's a beautiful, wide, flat trail that leads through old growth forests and shallow pools that are icy and gorgeous in winter. It's well worth the trip out here, perfect for children who want a taste of wilderness. There is no water or restrooms. There is a large covered pavilion with picnic benches and a grill. There is plenty of parking.

Decent trot in the middle of nowhere. Wide open spaces. Cool to see once for sure. Took the red trail.

First to Review

I hiked the Orange Loop yesterday with my daughter. The trail was icy and muddy in spots, but fine to travel on. We extended our walk into the Mooney Carrese Forest on a "new" trail that was in great shape. We met several people geocaching. A very good stretch of the legs.
