Great winding 7mi loop, mostly off road, from golf course parking
The Van Cortland path is an excellent trail for a novice or an experienced hiker. It offers a challenge for th experienced hiker who enjoys jogging trails. The park is well maintained and offers a variety of trails. The trails are marked and coordinated by colored markers. I encourage everyone to enjoy what this amazing park has to offer. I can’t emphasize enough what an amazing park Van Cortland Park has become.
Some parts unpaved, somewhat muddy. Lots of noise from the nearby highway
The northern section was nice but you never get away from the roar of cars from the highway. One section is closed till the summer.
I would recommend this trail to people looking for an easy dog-friendly hike. Not too crowded with the exception of a cross-country event happening. A ton of space, great views, and parking by the horse stables.
took my 4 lbs Chihuahua and she did great! she walked about 3 of our 9 miles too! there was lots of glass on some portions of the trail, which was disappointing! some points are right along the highway
