Take Broadway Rd (Route 4) going south out of Gowanda, NY. Turn left onto Pt. Peter Rd. Follow it for about a mile and make a left on Valentine Flats Rd. by the paint-peeling farmhouse with a large flag pole in the yard. Valentine Flats Road dead-ends at the trail head parking area.

Fun hike though muddy and slippery, as we went after a good few days of rain. Outlook a bit scary but beautiful. The trail down to the creek is my favorite.

Such a great place to spend a day exploring. The view from the top of Valentine Flats is stunning, and once you follow the trail down to the bottom of the gorge you can get right down into the creek and creek walk in either direction.

Excellent hike for Easter 2016! A nice blend of elevation, flats and a beautiful spot at the convergence of the Cattaraugus Creek with one of its branches. A gem in these parts!

The trail breaks off into a few branches at some points, but the hike down into the gorge is short enough that there's plenty of time to explore them and still have time to spend down at the creek. There was a flash flood warning the night before we went, so I'm sure the fast, rushing water we saw isn't the norm. It made crossing the creek and traveling along the gorge a little difficult.

This is a pretty cool trial but it can be confusing if it's your first time there. It's not too hard of a walk, but it certainly isn't a walk in the park. There's many different ways to branch off on this trail and there's a lot to see and do. Definitely one of my favorite trails around buffalo
