Great walk. Lots of trash. Very little trail manners or social distancing

I hiked Lake Minnewaska two decades ago to the swim area at the lake and I'm so glad to return to visit this Waterfall. It was my first time and It was perfect weather. Not too many people. Absolutely perfect day to just explore and take in the beauty that surrounds the trails.

Very beautiful! But not enough elevation for me.

Great trail, but the best part is that I took the orange trail (rainbow falls trail) and this was the most beautiful part of all, see the waterfall, some minor and easy scrambles up and spectacular views of the granite cliffs.

I love this trail no noise, really peaceful and little long but it is worth it.

Great trail, easy to moderate walk. Great view of the fall and wooded trail. We did the entire trail in about 3 hours

Great trail for the hiker looking to spend a few hours of moderate (easy for the seasoned hiker) hiking. Nice Views of Upper Awosting Lake, stop there to use the facilities and take a break.. The carriage path is kept up nicely. Castle Point Rock offers beautiful views of the mountain. a must see for anyone in the area that has a few hours to spend hiking.

One of my favorite trails. Easy enough for a beginner, difficult enough to please the seasoned hiker. No rock scrambles, nice path, lots of bikers noticed today. The lake has clean bathrooms and a swimming area.

easy trail, great for kids as well. Beautiful falls at the end. well worth it

Not a bad trail. Took the carriage path the whole way which made it a lot easier to cover more distance. Would definitely want to go back to Lake Awosting to walk around it!

Lovely hike - definitely not hard but very long. Ended up being ~12 miles because we parked in the lower parking lot. Very busy - recommend getting there early

Skipped Lake Awosting, Did Rainbow Falls and the Shawangunk Ridge Trail up to Litchfield Ledge, Castle Point, and Hamilton Point Carriage Rd back. The cut-through from Castle Point down to Hamilton Point CR is a little hard to find and is a straight down scramble. Beautiful.

I considered the trail moderate and very scenic- the Awosting waterfall is breath taking and inspiring. The creek it pools into is cool and refreshing on a hot day, though fall is now approaching. There are little detours on the trails that bring you to beautiful views. Some to little creeks, others to rocky ground overlooking the mountain. You just have to adventure and see for yourself.

Great trail! The main part is on a carriage road and very easy to walk. There are options to break off onto various (more challenging) footpaths along the route, but even just staying on the main road was beautiful—small waterfalls, scenic views, and interesting wildlife! Not too crowded either. After three miles this trail ends and morphs into other trails, like the Castle Point trail, etc. AllTrails counts it as a 10 mile loop if you do a combination of all of those smaller trails after the 3 mile Awosting trail (which ends at Lake Awosting). The whole ten miles is worth it though...crystal clear lakes, cliffs, rocky outcrops, mostly flat the whole time if you stay on the carriage road. A great walk!

we did this yesterday with a slight alterations. absolutely beautiful views. We got caught in an endless thunderstorm (there was only a 20% chance it would storm) on the way back through Castle Rock which was quite terrifying with all the lightning, but also incredible with the views of the storm over the land. we had done this one before when it was very, very hot and it was much harder so the rains were actually a nature blessing in disguise.

It is a very pretty hike, but this is more like a skiing trail that can also be hiked (when theres no snow), 90% graveled trails, not difficult at all, the only difficult part is the distance, other than that, the trail is easy and with very little elevation gain, does have a nice seasonal beach that can only be hiked to, I imagine it gets packed though in the summer

best scenery and easy walkway. also good for bike.

I changed the track a little. I took Castle Point to the Blueberry Run Trail, over the Awosting Carriage Road down to Peters Kill, then backtracked back up to the Awosting Carriage Road, and then went around Lake Minnewaska on the Minnewaska Carriage Trail. It was a beautiful hike, roughly 12 miles. I liked the Blueberry Run Trail the most. It had the least amount of people and had a more diverse atmosphere.

The views are beautiful. I've had to break up the full trail will eventually do the entire loop together. There were a lot of people riding bikes, be careful around turns.

I did a different path than AT described. The Lake was beautiful. View of Catskills at one end. Quick short trek on BR also.

Very exciting moderate-hard trail. It has a lot of spectacular scenes: to examine Gertrude's Nose Trail in details, to see great panoramic view at Castle Point, to admire of shapes of mountains, to see awesome Lake Awosting.
