Nice walk along the river. Bring bug spray for the wooded areas.

My daughter and I enjoyed this trail. It was paved throughout and fairly level. Not strenuous but a nice scenic walk along the Genesee River. The bridge was nice as well.

Take this trail from Boxart all the way to Ontario Beach Park and back! It is quite a walk, but enjoyable...I am guessing a little over 5 miles round trip.

Parking at the end of Boxart. Not really a "trail" run but a beautiful run all the same.

Scenic. Can get to the Steven B. Roman while unloading. Some trash from inconsiderate people.

very nice and quiet walk.

Not sure why this is rated as moderate. Easy walk from parking lot to the bridge aside from a steep hill that leads you to the trail. I went paddle boarding here last year, but the dock isn't even visible anymore due to high water levels. Many people walking, biking, and fishing. Trail is well kept.

Beautiful hike. Some hills on the trail from Ontario Beach Park to Turning Point. It's like a hidden gem in Rochester, not a lot of traffic! Love this area!

Great hike

It's okay for a walk, combination paved trail and boardwalk. Follows the Genesee River, which the river banks definitely need some cleaning up from litter.

We do this trail a lot. We usually part off of Boxart and walk down the steep hill to the boardwalk- we follow the boardwalk to the end and turn around- though the trail does go further than that. It's a nice trail to use with a stroller, though the hill near the parking lot is a bit tough. We had followed some of the trails through the woods there too and liked them- they they are not as stroller-accessible. The trail is generally well maintained and clean. There is plenty of parking and it's a nice place to watch water fowl and I often see people fishing there as well. We had seen lost of turtles as well and frequently see fish jumping out of the water. It's a nice trail for families.

Well maintained; not too difficult.

So much beautiful wildlife. Lots of turtles, ducks, hawks, and a swan couple

Wednesday, September 07, 2016

Wide, flat, paved path takes you down to a wooden plank boardwalk that is over a portion of the the river. Some waterfowl, broad winged Hawks, Mute Swans, red winged blackbirds, a belted king fisher, and a few different gull species. Absolutely family friendly but it's one way in and the same way out. If you hike 4 miles in, you have to hike 4 miles out. No loop!
