Park in parking area on Ludingtonville Road. There is a kiosk there with trail maps. Take the blue trail up to and around the lake or explore the many side trails.

Gréât November hike. I recommend to do it counterclockwise . Easier on descent and easier to follow the marks. They have paper maps at the entrance . When you get to the utility line trail, take a left . Otherwise it goes to another road. At the end We added the yellow trail that goes back to entrance. The descent is easier. There is just a small part with down trees that you can go around and a small muddy part . Doing the loop Counterclockwise means less people and you face the sun . Not much to see except for the lake but it’s easy plus if you wear hiking boots. . Parking spots even on Sunday . Small ascent at the beginning . Was not slippery . Just some roots and gets rocky sometimes . I counted 6 miles.
Trail is very well marked (though as others said you need to turn off to the blue trail at some point - it's not all teal and recommend you look up a map of the trails before you go). But not the most scenic hike unfortunately, especially in the winter. No great lookouts and lake isn't particularly nice compared to others in the area.
Decent little hike. Wasn’t able to do the full loop since I started the hike late. Had to cut it short so I didn’t lose the daylight. Will try this hike again and do the full loop. First 3/4 mile is all up hill. Will get your heart pumping but seems pretty easy after that.
The trail was very easy to follow and well marked. You don't actually stay on the Teal trail the whole way - switch to the blue trail near the end to complete the loop - but the map and trails line up quite well. The first mile is uphill and then it steadies out for the loop around the lake. Some nice lake views and moderately challenging terrain at some of the rockier parts. The trail was also pretty busy for mid-November, but everyone was very respectful and wore masks and/or kept their distance.
The trail was lovely, however we were first were following the blue circle trail, which then turned into the teal trail, which then spit us out onto a road that was 2.4 miles away from the parking lot. I was with my mother who is older and we were walking on a busy and winding road that just wasn’t safe. Would need to go back and try to figure this trail out again.
Very nice trail. A little rocky at the start but nothing a good ol walking stick can’t help with. Best to be done in October. We went when all the leaves had already fallen and were unable to see roots so we tripped a little bit. The details state the yellow trail is closed- it’s not BUT we did take part of the yellow trail down and got lost due to a fallen tree. That was the only part of the entire trail that the trail markers were hard to find. Otherwise it was perfect.
Tricky route with many side trails along the way. Started on the blue trail thinking it was a straightforward loop but ended up on the other side of the parking lots luckily a friendly passerby drove us back to the parking lot before dark! Well trafficked, not too many elevation changes. Nice day trail for leaf peepers
It was a good trail with some rocky steps along the way. The lakes were great to walk beside. I was on the yellow trail for a but to stay nearer to the water then jumped back onto the teal trail. I did get turned around on the northern most part of the loop, where in order to continue on the loop I had to follow the blue circle marker trails instead of the teal diamond markers.
Went on a Thursday afternoon and saw maybe 4 other people on the whole trail. Very empty in a good way. Nice, peaceful walk but I’d consider it an easy hike as there’s not too much elevation. Got a little lost at one point but found my way back easily. Overall really well marked trail and peaceful. Minus one star for the highway noise for the first 20 min or so of the hike but it fades once you get in enough. Also saw 3 snakes slithering across the trail!
Very well marked trail all woodsy there is a small lake great for dogs off the leash didn’t see a single person didn’t get lost
Was sad to see a dead deer floating in the pond. Trails well marked and a variety to choose from. Large parking area. Good trail for running
