Lovely hike. Easy with just one steep part near Piermont. Started hike from 9W parking lot. Great views of Piermont Marsh and Hudson when trees are bare.

beautiful, but steep

great hike watch out can be pretty muddy in sections day after rain. and the begining and end of the loop is a nice little workout otherwise most of this is a stroll.

Easy trail with beautiful views. There is no parking at the beginning of the trail, but you can park a car nearby on the streets of the town

Pleasant and straightforward walk that starts as a paved road and transitions into dirt road with side paths. Views of the water from side path (marked by a red ribbon) were beautiful and easy to get to.

Easy trail with gentle elevation changes. Did it with our kids ages 8 and 12 without problem. There’s a lookout point a bit off the trail worth the short detour that gives you spectacular views of the river.

Very easy walk with many options. Best taken from Piermont. Fascinating history of the former quarry and oil tanks from Standard Oil, creating the pattern of paths and pools in the Southern part of the Park.

Really fun hike despite some muddy patches. There are a lot of intersecting paths, so use the app to stay on course. When you enter the park, take the stone steps (green markers) on your right. It’s very steep but doesn’t last long. We saw a long black snake along the steps. At the top there are benches and a great view of the Hudson. Then continue to the left on a wide paved path through picnic grounds/campsite for a stretch. Then it becomes a dirt trail again and winds across a few streams. We did a loop but not the full one. We used an orange connector trail. Our total ended up about 3m.

Mid April was perfect. No bugs and really no people. Plus the trees are not fully leafed so amazing views of the river.

There is no parking at the trail head. Best to. Park in downtown Piermont and walk. About 8 minutes. Nice trails that are not the well marked. I plan to return in the winter as the green trees blocked much of the water views. A little More difficult than easy but not really a moderate hike.

The GPS does not take you to a parking lot. Once you get there, it is a gravel wide path. It goes about a mile and then dead ends. Not at all what All Trails maps it out to be. It is completely unremarkable. Too lush for any views. However, When you first get in, you will see a trail off to the right (green marker). It is a well planned completely UP trail to a nice view. There is a parking lot up there so it must also be a turn out for a look out.

Very enjoyable hike. Good views and many picnic areas and other activities in the park. Steep climb in places, but well placed rocks form steps. Lots of options for trails.

Some nice views. A bit too many picnickers. Trail not well marked. App really helped stay on trail.

This is a great hike for first timers. You can choose to climb the mountain or take a drive up to the a breath taking view of the Tappan Zee Bridge. There are lots of spots for just hanging out at the summit as well! Definitely a summer family spot.

The trails in Tallman Mountain State Park are a great afternoon getaway for the amateur hiker or casual outdoor enthusiast. Multiple trails are suitable for a quick stroll through the woods with the family and pets or an hour spent bicycling paved paths between the trees. A dirt trail which starts at the main parking lot presents simple obstacles with easy elevation changes of +/- 20 feet and the occasional rock step. After a few hundred yards, you can switch off to the "Long Trail" which is a paved road that later turns into packed earth. Marked footpaths that are easy to navigate branch off and take you past shaded ponds with frogs and ducks aplenty. Finish off the afternoon with a lunch at one of several scenic picnic grounds complete with standing grills and wooden tables or a game of mini-golf at the front entrance.
