This is a quiet and beautiful nice easy hike, mostly flat to the falls. Be aware that there are many steps to the top of the falls though.

Great!

It is only open to the falls bottom, still a nice short hike. The parking lot is on not plowed, bao we had to park along the road.

Parking was closed but we parked up the road and walked to the entrance. Waterfall was beautiful and the stone steps were quite easy to navigate.

Trail is technically closed, we parked on the road and hiked up. Falls is a trickle right now but there’s a pool all the way up that you can wade in!

BEAUTIFUL hike! The trail is short but so worth going! I went out here a few weeks ago and it was gorgeous. Beautiful, magical scenery! A lot of people were there, and parking was down a tight road. Walk past the gate into a field-like area where you'll see where the trail starts. Honestly very pleasant!

This is one of our favorite waterfalls. Owned by Minnewaska State Park but accessed via a back side road, it used to be little known and secluded and pristine. About two years ago park staff added bridges and stairs to the top making it less pristine but also making it easier to get to the second falls which cannot be seen from below, a nice swimming hole, and connection to the old Stonykill Carriageway which leads up to Lake Awosting. It is an easy hike to the tall bottom falls. Best to go in the spring when the water is raging. The hike also starts through an old shale quarry. Eventually I suspect there will be a parking lot and kiosk here. Only drawback is parking on the side of the unimproved road.

Great trail for new hikers or if you’re a little out of shape. Big reward to get to the top of the waterfall without a grueling workout. Great for younger kids!

This tracked our car ride out, it was 2.25 miles of hiking, sorry about that. It was a very scenic drive there and a georgeous trail leading to the waterfall, and up the waterway. So happy we made it.

Great trail, super easy to trek. Falls were beautiful, a little bit of snow / ice left at the base even though it was 65° out. Halfway to the top of the falls the trail is still closed for the season — rock steps on the way up were slick with ice and snow from Monday’s snowfall. Definitely will visit again soon.

Hiking

The waterfall was just a trickle in early September, but the hike is still lovely. There are lots of improvements on this trail - nice bridges and carefully laid stone steps up the hill to reach the top of the falls. For a fit person, this is easy, but there are no handrails for much of the trail, so I would be nervous bringing my parents or little kids on the top half of this hike (from the base of the falls to the top of the falls). The hike to the base of the falls is super easy, though! The world doesn't get a lot prettier than this hike!
