Walking

The is is one of my go to places for bringing dogs! It is beautiful all year round and very well maintained. However down near the water be very careful because there tends to be broken glass which makes me mad because people bring there dogs there so it can be a hazard. When I can I always try to pick up what I can. Also watch out for people who don’t pick up after their dog (disgusting). Dogs are supposed to be on leash but most people don’t which can be a problem. But besides those few issues it is a really good place to walk. Definitely try the trail on the other side of the creek as well!

Hitting the trails on a bitter cold day. Since the wind chill was -10 there wasn't a single person or dog on the trail. Was a little windy in the field but fine in tree cover.

I took a chance on this one and shouldn’t have listened to my gut. Very busy, no big deal.... everyone had a dog and I didn’t see one leash. Nope never again here. Didn’t care for walking on a road either. Thought it would have been a trail walk.

Really nice easy trail. The only thing I’d like to warn people about are irresponsible dog owners. The trail says leashed only but we weren’t too worried about the off leash dogs because ours is friendly and she said hi to a few at the beginning of the trail. Nonetheless she remained on her leash. About halfway through a very large dog got away from it’s owners and charged and bit our dog. Ours was unhurt and we were able to continue the hike but it was unsettling to say the least. If you have dogs constantly be aware of your surroundings. Other than this the hike was enjoyable.

beautiful view of Norman's kill! easy access to the banks for wading or skipping stones. We saw TWO loons flying over the water!! Lots of people and dogs, as it passes a lovely little community garden. I wish i had taken a picture, but the map seemed to indicate it wasn't a loop? It was just one straight line. Just gravel in bits, don't wear your sandles.
