The trail was extremely muddy, most of the hike felt like we were walking upstream because of all the water coming down. But, all of the slips and falls aside, it was an amazing hike. Like always, I was amazed by the view. It's not an easy hike.

Awesome trail, waterproof boots a must as it’s a very wet / muddy hike. treks highly recommended especially coming down the rock scrambles. My blue heeler struggled a bit, but otherwise was a great hike for her.

I enjoyed this hike. I just drove up for the day and wanted something challenging that wasn’t too long which is exactly what I got. Beautiful views of the foliage. The trail starts out easy and then gets very steep and rocky.

Very pretty at the top. Careful of the fire tower door the latch is broken and the door is very heavy.

Pretty nice trail. Relatively easy till the last 3/4 of a mile. Take your time and access the right way to go up. Treks highly suggested. View is spectacular up top.

Great trail. It's a nice walk in the woods the first 2.4 miles or so thru hardwoods, ferns, pine and balsam. Part of the trail as you get further in follows the creek bed. Lots of great trail work on this trail. Wooden bridges, beams steps. Last 1.4 miles is the ascent. You gain most of your elevation here. So be ready for a work out. Poles are super helpful going up and definitely coming down. Will be scrambling in a few spots. Great views. Will definitely be back.

Spectacular hike with varied terrain. Would highly recommend high ankle boots with good traction. trekking poles also make a huge difference especially in the descent. definitely a challenge in the last half mile, had our two dogs - the 9 year old needed to be lifted up in a few places but doable. no issues with bugs.

Amazing views...worth the climb!! We hiked this in Aug 30. As has already been stated, the last half mile to mile is challenging! Our nine year old went with us and he was able to complete the climb. He is an athletic child who is used to be very active. We just took it slow in some parts. Definitely need shoes with traction...some of the rocks are wet and slippery. Top of the tower was extremely windy, but the views are spectacular!

My wife and I hiked this on Sunday Aug 25, 2019! We are generally fit people who go to the gym regularly and hike as often as possible, took us just over 2hrs up and just over an hour down. Great hike overall. Gradually gets steeper the further along you get. Couple of muddy spots along the way though generally dry the whole route. Wear hiking boots/shoes not runners unless you want to get muddy. The last half mile is good and sleep and requires a bit of navigation over large rocks though the path is straight forward where to go. Great view from the top, 2 different lookouts from rock ledges and a watchtower with a great 360 view. Definitely worth the hike and nobody was eaten alive by bugs.

The view from the fire tower is worth every step! Was in dragonfly haven at the top overlooking Indian Lake.

This trail was amazing. It is well marked and easy to follow the entire way to the top. Wear good hiking shoes (rocks are wet and slippery in spots), take water, and bring your trekking poles. The view at the top is fantastic and worth the work to get there. Climb the fire tower for a great 360 view.

Trail is in good shape. First time doing this as a trail run, and it was excellent. If you wear trail runners, be careful on the trail boards, as the runners don’t have the same grip as hiking boots and it can be slick. Otherwise, awesome!

Good solid but strenuous hike! Nothing undoable, we passed ourselves. The hard part of the hike was the descent, it rained the previous night so everything was slippery. Patience and hiking sticks proved there worth. Great views from the tower and a couple of different overlooks. Bugs were pretty much non existent, but was very chilly in the top of the Fire Tower. Very Windy!! As per the AllTrails app the total distance to the tower from sign in was 4 miles.

The last .5 mile IS VERY TOUGH but take your time because the views from the top are phenomenal. If windy bring a jacket because on the summit in the sun it is warm but walk into the trees and BRRRRRR! Great hike

First hiked this as a baby on my parents back. Finally did it on my own 20 years later. Awesome trail.

I hiked it on 8/3/2019. Beware that last 0.5m! Not for the faint-of-heart (or out of shape persons like moi). Build up to it if you can. I made it to the summit, but was so knocked out that all I could do was lie down, I couldn't even enjoy the view!

Got a late start at 130pm on 8/1/19, a clear, mild day. Beautiful, easy hike through lush forest and over rivers and brooks for the first few miles. Then it gets interesting as the ascent becomes steep at the last mile and then very steep for the last 1/2 mile. The first part of the hike took me about 1.5 hrs, The last part took another 2 hours. Quite an ascent! The views from the top were well worth it though, stunning! After spending and hour at the top, I began my descent and ended up finishing the hike as it was getting pretty dark at about 845pm.

First time hiking this mountain, relatively easy up until the last half mile leading to the summit. Very rocky, very steep but the view atop the fire tower totally worth it!! Doused myself w/bug spray before heading out and didn't get bit once. Strongly suggest using walking sticks on your way down though, tough on your knees and joints, was definitely feeling it when we got back down.

Very well maintained with a lot of bridges and foot paths. Easy to follow the trail. First 2.5 miles are a very nice easy walk in the woods. Last mile up is quite steep and challenging. Loved the challenge. Fire tower on top was incredible. Definitely worth the effort. Do Not underestimate the elevation!
