love this trail with my young kids. the highlight point is the picnic table on the water. Went in the fall and no bugs or other issues. can easily miss the trail entrance. you start off on the bridal path and if you hit the road you've gone too far. Excellent writeup of this trail in the book 50 day hikes around New York City.

Impossible to find beginning of trail i.e. south end of red line. The walkways are north of the parkway. We never found any way to get across to the south side, even way up at the parking lot.

Very overgrown but nice marsh and water views with access to the mansion gardens

Unkept trail with no real destination. All of Pelham Bay Park is a little disappointing for hikers.
