Shoreline Walking Trail is a 4.9 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Liverpool, New York that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This is a family-friendly trail with convenient parking. You will get a great scenic view of the lake. It can be very crowded on nice days. There are two parallel paths, one is for walking and the other is for bikes. Accessibility: There are 4 designated handicapped-accessible spaces in the paved parking lot Onondaga Lake Parkway. All of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved, smooth, and typically at least 10 feet wide. The estimated grade is flat (1% or less), so this trail will likely be navigable for most wheelchairs/mobility equipment or strollers.
Highly trafficked, great scenic view of the lake. Separate trails for foot traffic and wheels.
Flat, paved path along the shore of Onondaga Lake. Nice place for an evening stroll. There are two parallel paths, one for walking and the other for bikes and "wheels"
Great trail! Paved and marked along the way. I parked in the orange lot for the fair and rode the trail to the Salt Museum in Liverpool. This actually was two trails. The county intends to combine them with others to make a trail all the way around the lake. I was out about 11am on Fathers Day, no bugs, partially shaded, lots of people walking, jogging and riding. Trail is wide so you have plenty of room to pass
We combined the West Shore Trail and the Shoreline Walking Trail to achieve nearly 16 miles round trip on our bikes. The whole thing is paved and mostly flat. The West Shore is beautiful but you can still hear the noise from the highway. I tired to zone it out and focus on the multitude of singing birds.
Rented a bike and went rollerblading was pretty muggy and hot but overall a very nice day
Excellent. A great trail, paved all the way for very safe cycling. The trail now extends continuously around three quarters of Onondaga Lake. What an amazing asset to Syracuse visitors and residents. You can experience sunrise, sunset, forests, manicured parkland and lovely water views from many vantage points. Highly recommended.
