Trail is well packed. No spikes or snowshoes needed. Hiked with my 5 year old. Took us an hour to summit. We both had a lot of fun running back down the trail. Beautiful day.

The road in was plowed but still a little steep and slippery at times. The trail was well packed down, wide, and easy to follow. No need for spikes or snow shoes. Pretty steady climb from the parking lot, beautiful forest the whole time. It was snowing at the summit, so couldn’t see any views. Will have to go back in the summer to check it out.

HikingGreat!Snow

A nice short trudge up to some lovely Lake George views. Mostly packed snow all the way up, very doable without snowshoes. Parking lot was not full, and there were others nearby so you could probably walk if you really wanted to.

Not many hikers today. Windy and cold on dark side of the mountain. Roads driving in to trailheads are clear.

Great short hike to get the legs warmed up for some bigger hikes in the area. definitely keep going once you reach the summit. Down and to the left, it opens to a great view of the lake, without tree coverage.

Easier, pleasant trail with some rocks and roots but steady grade with switch backs. Keep going past the summit til you find the great views of Lake George and Northern peaks!

It was great! The trail had un upper leg to the summit, and a lower leg to the falls. Terrain was just challenging enough for my 12-year-old twins, my 54-year-old wife, and my 62-year-old self. Foliage was at peak color with deep blue skies, 70-degrees, and little or no wind. The view of Lake George from the summit was excellent. The trail down to the falls was a little flatter and ended at the dam. The climb down beside the falls was very steep, but with small flat spots to safely climb all the way though I stopped about a third of the way down to the bottom. I was a bit nervous that hunters were allowed on and around the trails, mixing in with a lot of non-hunters. I would love to go back. I forgot to turn off the recording after we got off the trail. The total hike was about 3.2 miles.

We parked at lot 1 and walked down to the falls (by the bridge.) The trail markers were not good in that area. We continued down to the lake and then back up to lot 5 to do the summit trail. The trail had long switchbacks and was very pleasant. Alright view at the top but there are better ones nearby.

Keep going after the false summit! The views are worth it. Though slightly rocky and full of leaves from the false summit to the real viewpoint.

Easy stroll. Wide trail. Very cool overlook. Remember to wrap around the summit to get to the real view! Don't be discouraged by the parking situation...there are at least 6 parking lots!

HikingGreat!

We tried to do Sleeping Beauty, but had to park too far from the trail head that we decided to hike Shelving Rock. I was a little disappointed with the view. The total miles we hiked were 6.7 miles. I paused the recording at the summit and it did not recorded our descent and hike to the car.
