Simple trail on the loop. To get to the actual the actual trail, via car, it is quite narrow so make sure you obviously go slow. Loved this hike

Nice, easy to follow trail. When we reached the top, or view was obstructed by trees. A path down towards the lake got us to a beautiful and expansive unobstructed view! We were warned that people become disoriented and have trouble getting back on the trail; happened to us, take care.

This trail is wonderful. it is not too difficult but challenging enough (easy) if you're looking to start. past the summit there's a small walk that takes you to a gorgeous view. you might think you'll remember the way back... take markers because you won't. Past the summit, there's a landing. take a right and follow the narrow path taking lefts if it splits, mark the turns because I'm the way back it's a bit tricky.

I chose this trail because of the beautiful photos people posted. But when we got to the end of the trail, the views were mostly blocked by trees. On our way there a hiker warned us that "the end is not actually the end, keep going for much better views". Unfortunately a thunderstorms started as we got to the top so we decided not to explore further. But if you choose this trail keep going until you find satisfying views! They are out there somewhere!

This was a perfect first hike carrying our 9 month old twins. Very clear, wide path and not a terrible climb uphill. 5/5 would recommend to people with babies!

This was relatively “easy” for a hike in the Adirondacks. Continual uphill, but a nice wide dirt path most of the way. The view at the actual summit is blocked by trees. Make sure to take the herd path on the right before the summit. It descends about .2 miles to an open rock ledge with gorgeous views. About 4 miles including the herd path.

Such a great hike with a wide path all the way up! It is hard to find the actual overlook but we were able to follow a small path off to the right before doing the final turn to the “top.” We followed the path down and eventually found the rock and the views were incredible!

Easy trail and beautiful view! A nice family told us to go a bit further than the summit to get a good view, so grateful for that because it was stunning! I like to hike the high peaks typically, but I just had a baby 8 weeks ago and just wanted to start slow. We brought the baby up this hike with no trouble! Oh, bug spray. Bring it. :)

My son and I hiked Shelving Rock today. It was a beautiful day. We loved the entire experience. Was a good starter hike for us. Looking forward to our next choice. Highly recommend Shelving Rock.

A nice and easy hike for my pup and I, got there pretty early in the morning. Took about 20 minutes or so to reach the summit. Peaceful just wished you would be able to see the view without the trees in the way. Lot 4 is the trail/hike itself and over by Lot 1, is the actual falls which we went to on our way out.

Sick sunset hike!!! I hike a lot and I’m SO IMPRESSED by this hike. Took us about 35 minutes to get up, we were moving quickly. Plan an hour to hike up if you like to take your time. Real gradual incline, would be good for trail running. Make sure you check out the lookout that’s on the right shortly before the summit, just follow the little trail down. Definitely buggy though, bring bug spray. This my new sunset spot for sure (obviously bring a head lamp if you’re doing a sunset hike).

Beautiful day for a hike, although very buggy at the bottom. Make sure to keep going beyond the summit for better views, as the summit view is blocked by trees. Less than 1/2 mile further and gorgeous scenic views. From there you can loop around to get back down; no need to go back to the summit.

The trail was very good.It was not very steep and there was a place where you could swim. If you keep walking the trail you will see a waterfall.
