You will climb to the top of Shelving Rock Mountain and then down to the shore past Shelving Rock Falls. This is a fun hike exploring the Shelving Rock Mountain area on the east side of Lake George. You will climb to the top of Shelving Rock Mountain for views down to the lake and then explore the shoreline around Log Bay and Shelving Rock Bay. You'll pass by beautiful Shelving Rock Falls twice on this hike. Be careful on the rocks around the falls as they are slippery

Super fun and the falls were so pretty! The drive up was a bit interesting as the roads are not paved and quite narrow. Great trail for beginners!

Great trail we did the Falls portion... pretty well marked with a few off shoots to the falls hiked down to Lake George bear the cove and log jam.. you can have lunch sun bathe or swim then hike back up.. a few privies there as well. Only down side a couple of people hiking with dogs off leash not smart when someone else’s dogs may not like a untethered dog running up on them..

The Falls were absolutely beautiful however the some of the view was blocked by trees....lot #1 was the falls and lot #4 was for the summit

Easy enough trail encompassing a summit, Lake George shoreline, Log Bay, and Shelving Rock Falls. Couple of things tho - AllTrails says 6.3 miles. My recording was 7.6 miles. AllTrails says you’ll see the Falls twice. I didn’t. I went off trail south of the Falls in order to see the Falls from the bottom up. AllTrails gives you a certified completed badge well before the actual “loop” is completed. Was a nice day but overcast. That said, arrive early on nice days especially during the “NY Pause.” Park in designated areas or expect a ticket. NYS EnCon and Washington County Sheriff’s we’re in the area which was great to see. Some muddy areas but easy to navigate. Buggy today but not unbearable. Enjoyable day!

We didn’t climb to Shelving Rock Summit. Only took the trail past the waterfall and along the lake to Shelving Rock Bay which in the Fall is relatively quiet and stunning! We will take the kids and head back to the bay in the Spring.

Beautiful. if I can I would give 10 stars. Very easy and gorgeous views. Very relaxing.

An easy hike that features a waterfalls. We hiked it down to Lake George and enjoyed the sunset. Trails are well maintained and easy to follow. We went off trail for a bit to go exploring. The falls was beautiful but we didn’t stay long because of people nearby smoking. Overall, a hike worth taking.

We did a quick trip to the falls and Log Bay to stretch our legs. The trail was busy with people and parking was bad due to being a holiday weekend. The trail is easygoing and the falls were flowing moderately.

Amazing view from the top! Directions were great.
