Hiking

Parking was nice and easy, but this was a weird one. The beginning of the hike along the red trail was super muddy and buggy. The ascent up the hill was really leaf covered and super slippery. This made ascending kinda tough but descending was even sketchier. Once you get off the red trail and on to the blue / yellow trail the hiking gets way less buggy and way more enjoyable. The views at each break in the trees are really pretty and light scrambling made for some entertainment as well. Overall a decent hike but I can't rate any higher than 3 stars because the beginning was meh at best.

HikingGreat!MuddyRocky

the views along the way was beautiful and at the end of the trail was really something. I must warn that it is very easy to get lost on the rocks because the trail markers are harder to find and there are sharp turns and such. following the trail map really helped me. there are some parts with very steep rocks. i enjoyed the trail greatly though.

HikingGreat!

Nice short hike. The trailhead and parking are a little sketchy to locate. You park where you can't go up any higher on Mountain Lodge Road (No Markers). Really only room for about six cars. The trail starts on the right where the chain goes across the old road to the water tank. There aren't any trail blazes until you get onto the top. The hike appears lightly used but well worth your time.

Group of six, we went one way on jessup trail from water tower to train bridge. Short hike up the spine then pretty flat until you have to switch over to the other peak. Lots of nice view points as you hike. Sharon’s chair is a nice surprise toward the end.

Nice hike with some straight forward rock scrambles. Very overgrown in parts. Difficult to follow the trail for the first mile. Note that there’s an extra half mile walk from where you can park to get to the marked trailhead as the road is not drivable.

Definitely one of my favourite hikes... didn't hurt that we ran into a black bear... such a magnificent creature! As others have mentioned, the start of the trail is really not clear, especially with the no trespassing signs, and getting up onto the ridge we lost the trail a time or two and had to use the app. The varied terrain and the great views though, make this a gem.

Quiet trail with some nice shade in certain parts. It’s not well marked like others have said until about .8 miles in (preloading the trail on the phone was crucial!). There are other trails that intersect this one. Some rock scrambling but was a good moderate hike with some nice views.

Trail was not maintained at all, once you got up to the top it’s great, well marked and beautiful views. The going up and down was rough. Marked terrible and trail not managed at all

Red trail unfortunately was not much of a trail less experienced hikers should take the other route up its much more clearly blazed. Once at the top it’s stunning use the rocks as your guide and you will be fine once you are in the yellow.
