HikingGreat!Over grown

Absolutely beautiful! It’s a great workout. Only issue was parking and the field trails were overgrown.

HikingGreat!

At the top, you basically get a 270° view of the lower Hudson Valley all along the top ridge. It’s gorgeous. The field at the beginning makes you feel like you’re in a different part of the country. Please note the prohibited track crossing signs, I wish they built a walkway so you could cross the tracks legally. Overall, it’s a very fun hike, good workout, the reason why 4-stars is because you hear the Thruway road noise almost the entire time, otherwise this is a great hike I would do again.

Phenomenal experience from the wild flowers to the hike up. Overall moderate hike with some decent views but nothing breathtaking. I could live in the wild flowers all day.

Fun trail with insane view from multiple vantage points and beautiful streams. A little overgrown and some down trees but makes it more fun.

Great trail starts off in fields of grass then up the mountain seems like the peek never arrives. Lot of rocks and long ascents. Beautiful views of the Hudson Valley from the top, then all downhill back to RR tracks. Trail is very rocky. A challenge for beginner hikers, wasn’t highly trafficked the Sunday morning I went.

Did the trail clockwise going to the left first, gives you nice steep incline and great views in the way down. The other direction going up counterclockwise is much rockier terrain with more scrambling. You are not supposed to walk a cross the train tracks but there is no other way to get there from the parking lot. Parking lot was not full. Nice views at the top and nice cool breeze, not too buggy.

Nice clean trail with large exposed rocks along ridge line that allow nice views. Beautiful stunted pines and blooming mountain laurel. Reasonably steep, but no real scrambles. Dry weather, so the creeks were trickles, and no mud. The beginning and end are through open fields so plenty of sun, wildflowers, snakes, birds etc. Note that these routes require the crossing of train tracks, which is illegal. The one negative about this hike is that it’s too close to the highway, so the noise is a constant.

A kind of black snakes live here. Though white blazed trail is very interesting and challenging. We did a little detour and that lead us to the other side of the mountain. Steep ascend on white trail. Needs some climbing. Trails are mostly well covered. I would go again if not because of the snake viewing.

Fantastic hike. I would say it’s a moderate to hard hike as it has a pretty nice incline in the beginning but a relatively easy decline once you get past the peak. There’s a nice waterfall at then end if you go clockwise!

This was an enjoyable hike, especially with a dog. To get to the train you have to walk through a meadow, and it was was seeing you dog run around and have a great time. Sweet clover is basically 1100+ feet of ascent. At times quite steep. Would not recommend if you haven’t hiked in a while. But if active 1 it may be difficult at times but very doable. The view at the top is beautiful. Going down the yellow trail, it can be easy to get off trail, or miss a marker. **Patches of mud when we went, but nothing too bad. Lots of deer ticks on our dog, so something to look out for if you bring your pup with you.

The trail is a good workout. Very steep on the way up. Need the app on the way down cuz it’s easy to lose the trail and very steep and rocky on the way down. All in all a good hike with nice views. Give yourself enough time though would not even want to think about coming down in the dark.
