Great hike! Some good steep sections. Pretty view at the top make it worth it. Nice and quiet, not very busy. Trail not well marked at the bottom, i used the gps coordinates to find the trail. Well marked once your actually hiking
Snow is mostly packed down now. Parking along street is not plowed. On the decent the snow melted and was slippery.
potential of rattlesnakes. view is to the south so take note of where sun will be when you are there.
***Really recommend starting this hike at Bulls Bridge (there’s a parking lot at Bulls Bridge which had plenty of spots at 10am on Sunday but was full when we left, parking is easier at the trail head if you are arriving after noon)... anyway, definitely wander the banks of the Housatonic before heading up this trail... it adds about 1.2m or so to the total but so worth it. without that, it is a good workout and a pretty vista but the add on makes it awesome.
Great moderate hike! Saw about a dozen people the whole time not bad for a Sunday afternoon
Just an ok hike overall. Pretty viewpoint. Fun to run down. 4 stars because we saw a 4 foot rattlesnake.
Lovely hike on a beautifully maintained trail. Once I reached the top, that has an incredible view, I continued north and came down an old gully. The gully is wide and hikeable and marked as an off shoot from the AT. It brings the hiker down 1.5 miles north of the trail head on Schaghicoke Rd. Very nice, plan on doing it again.
