Field Notes: * pileated woodpecker * Canadian goose * possibly a minx or baby otter think this trail was good because I was with a wildlife biologist who was able to point out the behavior of the woodpecker. They were the main birds we saw, this time of year. Though we may have spotted a baby otter. Was rainy and muddy and trail hard for two ppl, but again- it being late February it was still nice to circle those grounds

This is a very nice and easy path to talk older parents on who need to take breaks and can't walk up hills. I remember this trail to have benches every so often, where we took a break as my mom was with us. If you're looking for a strenuous hike, this is not the place to come. We came in Oct. 2014.

Easy, well maintained trail that takes you past some ponds. Lots of birds, lots of bugs, and I saw three turtles!

Very accessible for all levels of hikers. Beautifully managed trails with lots to look at- great for spotting wildlife so close to the city. Definitely bring bug spray!

This is a beautiful place to visit in the Spring, Summer, and Autumn. The trails are very well managed and they are fairly easy to walk. You get to see a lot of the pond and lots of wildlife. We have seen chipmunks, squirrels, deer, ducks, Canadian geese, beaver, and Great Blue Heron that make their home on or near the pond. It is a great place to bring the kids too. And the Cornell Lab of Ornithology is a wonderful resource to learn more about the wildlife in the area.
