Checked out the waterfall this morning and it was freezing over nicely. Enough water was still going over the edge to produce a good echo in the deep ravine. Finished up by doing the small loop from Pt. B to Pt. C. Trail was half ice, half clear. Microspikes were a big help on the icy parts and going down the steep slope to the waterfall. Beautiful morning to be out in the woods.
Enjoyed it on the a nice afternoon. Nano spikes and poles helped a lot
I LOVE trail running at Sanders Preserve, but be aware during hunting season. I encountered many hunters on my last visit. Wear bright clothing or pick another trail if it makes you uncomfortable. Not really sure why they allow hunting considering the presence hiking trails and close proximity to homes.
Good. Rooty and rocky at points, but a scenic and very enjoyable trail. The trails are clearly labeled with either color coding or letters, but there are no reliable trail maps at the trailhead or on the trails. Great place for walking the dog!
Dryest time of year so I shot for and succeeded in covering every foot of trail. I tried to repeat steps as little as possible but it was necessary to double back several times
Started down pouring while hiking. Overall a nice hike, easy to identify the trails. Would totally do it a day it doesn’t rain.
Good conditions generally. Trails need to be better marked in some areas (e.g. between points R and H).
Nice trail for a walk. Not a whole lot to look at. The train was quite overgrown and muddy in some spots.
