San Souci Extended Loop is a 1.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Sayville, New York that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Nice, clean trails. Markers were slightly confusing and could use some updating. Good birding, good for walking dogs, small parking lot but big target lot down the road.
Great trails, some over streams ! As long as you don’t mind the huge amount of dog poop on trails.
there's definitly a lack of markers unless I just kept missing them. needed the gps a few times. very family friendly. nice easy hike.
One of my local favorite trails. When you enter on the main walking strip , not even 1/4 mile down, look for the orange trail . Take that trail south and you will reach the lake area, so beautiful! The swans are my favorite a lot of the trails are poorly marked, but you can get the hang of it once you visit 2-3 times without a problem. I walk the orange to white trail , it’s a great workout! Also dog friendly so you see a lot of people with their doggies ! Highly recommend!
We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the parking lot was full but the walk was still pleasant. We passed people but it was not overly crowded. The walk is easy with little elevation gain. Had to follow the trail hash marks in order to stay on the mail loop. A good time.
nice plain little trail with lots of alternate routes, unmarked....roadways are loud, though.
The trail is nice for a walk in the woods, it doesn’t offer much in the way of views but it’s a great place to walk the dogs or stretch your legs and get some fresh air.
