This beautifully maintained trail can be found across the street from the main campus of Hamilton College. There is a parking lot to utilize adjacent to the trail. This path meanders through the woods where you will come across a flowing stream, footbridges, small waterfalls, lots of birds, and many wildflowers. It’s definitely more of an enjoyable stroll than a hike although there are a few steep hills along the way. A true gem in Clinton, New York. After you enjoy Root Glen, take a walk across the street and enjoy the historical campus of Hamilton College. We were awestruck by the beauty and history of the buildings.

Beautiful area. A lot of information on the trees. Trails are very well maintained. More of an arboretum then an actual park. Lovely relaxing place to visit when you're in the vicinity. I drove an hour to get to it. I'd go again only if I was already in the area.

Beautiful nature walk. Kid friendly and safe. My kids loved reading the wooden posts along the way to see what the names of trees and plants are.

Great trails. We took our 7yr. Old and 10 month old in a stroller. The trial is well maintained crushed stone and very wide. There are some steep hills, which did make pushing a stroller a big work out. We all loved it and will definitely be back. We really loved the clay tile drainage trenches, instead of just boring pvc or plastic pipes. Highly recommended. As someone else mentioned, you can also branch off on other trials outside of the maintained ones. Make a great trail running place.
