This is beautiful trail along the waterfall. Well paved with a lot of steps.

Start on rim trail, challenging start but well worth it once you get going. Lucifer Falls was spectacular. Lots of stairs but trail very well maintained. Hiked down gorge trail but not much to see. Hike early as it gets crowded later in the day. Breathtaking views!

08/13/17. Excellent hike. There are a considerable amount of stairs on the trail, but the effort is well worth it as you are met with various waterfalls after most ascents. Start on the Gorge Trail and make your way up a few sets of stairs bringing you level with the gorge. From here, every few minutes of walking yields great views until you arrive at the breathtaking Lucifer Falls. Finish out the Gorge Trail and hike down the Rim Trail, which covers the other side of the gorge. The Rim Trail is further from the gorge in most places but gives a quiet contrast to the Gorge Trail. Both trails add up to about 4.5 miles total. Don't forget to bring your swimwear and take a plunge off the diving board in the official swimming area near the base of the trail! The water is ice cold & refreshing. Best of all, you can hang out right on a waterfall that spills into the swimming area!

One of the best I've done near Cayuga. Less crowded than WH or Buttermilk. It's a solid climb - definitely recommend decent shoes w tread, but the view at the top is worth it. We did Gorge up and Rim down. Great morning!

Protip - bug spray!

Solid climbs. Good to moderate surface with some gnarly roots. Views are solid and some surface has been developed and secured with chain fence. Worth a shakeout loop.

Great trail for hiking. The gorge trail is strenuous with a lot of stairs and isn't easy for young hikers.
