Absolutely breathtaking on a fall, cloudy day! The fog brought out the golds and reds of the foliage and brush while the white of the ridge made a striking contrast. Love this trail!

Awesome and quick hike. Last minute decision since all the lots at the popular spots nearby were already full at 930am, we decided to check this out and kill some time. Small lot but parking was easy and we were the only ones on the trail going counter clockwise. Only passed 3-4 other groups and that was when we were almost finished. Some awesome rock formations and little caves, and some spots for rock climbing here too. Decent views from the ridge and foliage was top notch.

Beautiful trail especially during the fall months with all the different colored foliage. We DO NOT recommend taking a dog as our dog was covered in ticks (~10) midway through the hike.

Great hike for beginners. Plenty of cool rock formations to poke around at the base of the ridge as well.

Definitely an intermediate hike because of the rocks and steep inclines at times, but not too hard and well worth the trouble. Calm and peaceful for the whole ridge walk.

We started on the Cox road entrance and stayed to the left to do the loop clockwise.. we really enjoyed the mix of wooded fern forest with the dwarf tree sandstone ridge path. The beginning starts with an “invigorating” uphill climb to the ridge. Turn right on to blue trail. The ridge opened up nicely to a great view, narrow path connecting patches of sandstone slabs and burnt out (from a fire) dwarf pines. At the end of the ridge the view was even a bit wider and a nice highlight. We turned right and took the red trail back down through the fern sprinkled woods to the parking lot. Everything was well marked. Tick alert - We brought our dogs and since the trail is narrow and wild ticks were spotted on our pups.

Great length and difficulty for a mid-afternoon hike! Definitely a workout but a manageable, dog-friendly trail with a gorgeous extended payoff on the ridge.

A great trail, unfortunately the paths aren't really well maintained and there were a lot of trees and overgrowth. The view from up top is very beautiful and is worth the hike. Just be sure to ready to move around due to the fallen trees and growth.

Trail is moderate due to some of the incline in the beginning and trails goes over quick a bit of rock and there's often uneven footing. However this is on the easier side of moderate :) Trail is very narrow and has a lot of over growth expect to be pulling back bushes at times. A couple of trees fell directly in the path from the recent storms, will need to climb over or around. Overall and fun and relatively short hike.
