Awesome sunny day. Only saw 2 people on trails. View from high point was breathtaking.

We included hang gliders cliff along with this and turned it into about a 5 mile affair. Overall this is a nice little hike with views very similar to the overlook down the road. These are arguably a bit better as there’s less people and you can see further north. It’s a nice stroll in the woods with not much elevation change.

WalkingGreat!

As I read other descriptions, I knew we would be in a forest type setting but the picture to describe this trail is misleading. There is no view like that. It was a beautiful walk through the forest.

When starting the trail choose the left hand loop. The right side is unbearably muddy and will ruin your shoes

i use to walk the trails all the time but now i have to pay $6 to park. they are all over the park and being a local doesn't matter. but there are spots you can find around to hike to the park without paying. i'm not cheap but since i only live minutes from the park it was always nice to head there for a quick walk. the taxes we pay here NY should be a shame but they keep on taking more more from us.

I love this trial! One of my favorites, easy, lengthy, and not too much variation along the paths. Recommended if you have a pup and want to take them on a path they’ll enjoy, just be careful of hidden holes and random drop offs. Today it happened to be extremely muddy but otherwise typical conditions.

The red, blue, and orange trails are very difficult to stay on, as they all interconnect with one another. It’s very easy to get lost in this maze of trails. The sign at the trailhead by the parking area needs to be replaced. It’s badly damaged from the elements and is unreadable. Also, if you’re new to the area or this is your first time here, you need to pay $6 for parking at Hop Field. You wouldn’t know this because there is no signage telling you to do so and the parking meter is in the middle of the lot so if you park before it as I usually do, you would miss it. I got a warning ticket because I didn’t see the parking meter. Thatcher Park needs to put signage up or move the pay meter to the beginning of the walk in to remind people to pay for parking. You only pay for parking through October. Come November, it’s free. Personally, I won’t return when the pay parking resumes. $6 is a lot to ask for a few mediocre hiking trails with no views and one waterfall. NYS gets enough of my money every April 15th. They won’t be getting $6 more for me to park my car
