Raven's Rock via Ferguson Lake Trail is a 5.6 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Tarrytown, New York that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Rockefeller State Park Preserve charges a parking fee of $6/vehicle that is collected daily between April - October and on weekends and holidays between November - March. This trail combines several well marked paths that lead to the impressive Ravens Rock. Trail begins at the tollhouse booth on Stone Barns Farm. Highlights include beautiful lakes, old growth oaks, wildlife, and rolling meadows. A precaution: Ravens Rock is regarded as the most remote area of the Preserve (a bit "spooky"), hikers should have a companion. Lot parking is free on weekdays, road side also available.
A little boring, but admittedly pleasant. Beautiful, tall trees everywhere. Great for long strolls as there are several interconnecting trails to wander on.
Awesome-particularly in the snow! Have done this trail several times, but first time in the snow!
Easily travelled trail-dirt and pebble roads. It’s not climby, but it’s very hilly. Went to Ravens Rock-pretty cool. The rock is descended so you climb fairly large hills to get to the point where you climb down to the rock. Definitely a nice morning. Got there around 7:15 and few peeps walking dogs.
Nice trail. Spectacular rock - very impressive. Worthy of walking there.
wide trail, lots of dogs, no view but a big set of rocks to rest at the end of the trail
Great scenic hike. There are a lot of trees and brush down from the previous weeks storm. Stone barns was closed.
Fun, quick walk (45ish each way). Not too strenuous, and not too many people (<10 on a Sunday morning). Can park on the road outside of Blue Hill entrance. Some trees blocking the trails after Hurricane Isaias but you can get around.
This was a moderate walk in the woods on a gravel and dirt road. The path is wide (perhaps often used for horses?). Did this hike today with three kids (ages 9, 12, and 15). We took a few wrong turns (watch the GPS carefully!), so it ended up taking about 3.5 hours. The lakes are more like puddles, but it was a great way to spend the morning without driving far.
Nice gravel path in the woods. Many different trails. Nice shade and not too crowded
Fun quick hike! We got down to Raven’s Rock, and tried to hang out at the top, but another group had beat us there. I guess there’s always next time!
