Prospect Park Loop is a 3.7 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near New York City, New York that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Prospect Park has so many child-friendly attractions that you might find a single visit won't do them justice. You can also bring a ball and play in an open field, watch dogs frolic at dog beach, and walk through the ravine, New York's last remaining forest. In summer, the bandshell at 9th St., near the Harmony Playground, hosts concerts and dance performances. A stable offers trail rides in the park. Accessibility: The perimeter trail has a combination of paved surfaces and dirt surfaces. The paved sections have an estimated average grade of 3% and a max grade is 8% at about 2.3 miles. Assistance may be needed for wheelchair/mobility equipment or stroller users in sections where the grade is steeper than 5%. The paved trails are typically at least five feet wide.
There are restrooms and drinking fountains throughout the park.

If your child is having a great time at one venue, don't rush him on to the next; come back another day.
Took a nice circuitous route generally following the loop, lots of ins and outs and finding the hill paths, bridges and tunnels. Enders Tunnel and the mixed martial artists practicing was a nice treat, as was the farmer’s market by the civil war memorial. Watch out for the kamikazi cyclists if you stay on the paved road. Coffee vendor is at the ice rink.
A full lap along the running path is just iver 5k. Very popular among the locals. Catch your breath looking at the fowl in the lake.
There are some stretches of sidewalk that are under construction on the Flatbush Avenue extension. There are stretches that could use some tender loving care, lots of garbage, illegal dumping, downed tree limbs
