Good trail. Nicely marked. Any trail that leads to a lake for my dog Jackson is a gold trail.....

This is a great trail, gets a bit rocky in some areas but not too bad. The only negative is the lack of trail markings in key locations like where 2 trails cross or when the path direction isnt obvious. I had to use this app to confirm I was going in the right direction a couple times. But overall I loved it

Cold overnighter at the Stone Memorial. The shelter fireplace was quaint, tough to gather firewood as the shelter sits atop a rocky hill and wood must be carried up from either side. The NY skyline view is nicer from the next vista to the north. Still enjoyed the beautiful forest with many stream crossings and will return to take on more.

This is my favorite hike for when I’m home visiting my family (currently live in NYC). It’s a beautiful mix of trees, flowers and water. It’s even fun in the snow. Always fun!

Solid hike. The beginning/end section from the parking lot to the lake is really nice, with beautiful pine trees. The middle/east loop of the hike was perhaps not the best for the summer. The markings left a lot to be desired when switching from the white/red blazes to yellow blazes. The mosquitos were also in full force in that back section, which really ruined that part. I think it would be a lot nicer in the fall/winter/spring. Also, saw two black bear in the east section!

This was a pretty sweet first hike for me. Only would ask for some clearer markings but it was overall a great hike! Went the wrong way twice and added two miles but well worth the view at the peak of the NYC skyline. Only saw a handful of other people when we went. Great first hike

The place is gorgeous and well kept. A park ranger came by to let us know a rattlesnake was nearby. The lake was beautiful.

Awesome hike with great scenery. Train-station somewhat nearby which is a plus if you want to leave the car at home.

Whilst it's a popular trail, mainly the first part up to Pine Meadow Lake, this trail makes for a nice hike. Once you go beyond the lake, where there are many other connecting and more challenging trails (with some nice rock/hill climbs, e.g. the Black trail, and a map/compass definitely come in handy), the crowds start to thin. There is also a way to completely circumnavigate the lake by using an unmaintained trail on the East side of the lake, which also takes you back through time where you can see some of the history of the area.

The trail is clearly marked and easy to follow. I spent the weekend with my dogs hiking around the lake and camping nearby. The hike provides gorgeous lake views, ideal hiking scenery, and a quiet escape from the city.

Great moderate trail. 3miles to lake on the red trail, 6 miles round trip.

Love the fact that you can end the trail at a lake and cool off with a swim.

One of the best places in Harriman is Pine Meadow Lake. Many trail options. Have done Pine Meadow trail from where it meets Suffern Bear Mountain to where it meets Kakiak. Have hit it from the North (Suffern Bear Mountain trail), and from Lake Sebago (Tuxedo Mt Ivy trail to Seven Lakes trail South to unnamed Yellow trail West. This route takes you across the top of Diamond Mountain which has great ridgetop hiking and views.

Very fun trail to venture on, the lake is beautiful and on a hot day is a great way to cool off. I hike about half the trail, once I get to the lake I usually enjoy the view and maybe swim then head back. Would recommend hiking here.

Beautiful, but a with so many trails in the area a bit distracting to have to constantly refer to the map to check which path to choose.
