THIS IS NOT THE ROUTE WITH THE GAZEBO! Muddy with slippery rocks this time of year. Doable with kids but can be a bit daunting with younger kids. Took 5 kids ages 11-5 little ones had a bit of trouble with steeper sections where you have to navigate over mossy wet rocks and roots.
Nice trail. Little muddy but to be expected this time of year. Steam is thawing out. Not too bad conditions just take it slow and steady on the way down.
Parked at Inman Pond trailhead and went up a faint herd path that eventually connects to the route shown here. Path is very hard to find at times, keep an eye out for the rare red blaze on a tree. Got off trail a few times and ended up bushwhacking to the summit and lookout. Views are fantastic! Beautiful hike overall, but definitely reccomend having a map on you, or at the very least a GPS or Alltrails.
Gorgeous trail! Easy halfway and tough the rest. Upwards nearly vertical climb. 1,200 feet when at the top. Fantastic views of Lake George and it’s islands. It can be a bit hard to find the route, so pay attention to the map in the app. Totally Recommend!
not super well marked great view of lake george at the top dog friendly
Don’t even know if I reached the top! Lol. Lots of climbing! Use the app map and look for orange dots. Fun- but view was eh
Amazing Views along the way. Incline most of the time. Not marked well but I love that!
Hiked today. Lots of rocks and roots to climb with. Not well marked on way up. Using AllTrails helped a lot. Beautiful views.
I really enjoyed this hike. It took me approximately two hours and 15 minutes but I am a slow hiker and I pause a lot on the inclines. The veering off to the right from the main trail is marked by a tree with a groove carved into it. It is easy to miss so I am including a photo. Once you are on that part of the trail it is easy enough to follow the red blazes on the trees. I hiked past the official end of this trail and the red Blazes continued. There were additional views to discover. The trail was not particularly buggy and I only saw one person on it.
