Great hike!! The extra walk to the waterfalls was totally worth it!! Great views but there was a lot more people around than I would like on a hike.

Hiked this many times, they’ve changed up the trail , added switch backs. Couple muddy spots. View is nicer when everything is green. Quick easy.

A well maintained trail with lots of mud and lots of rock stairs. Seems the first big loop is closed off, so just an out and back to the gazebo for now. Great views at the top! My puppy dog had lots of sniffing breaks:)

Very packed snow no need for snowshoes until the next snowfall. Great views as always. Went up for a sunset hike. Beautiful colors and silhouettes of the mountains. Posted a picture for you guys to check out.

Great day for a hike. I used micro spikes which helped on the descent. Snow heavily packed. Great view from the top.

Hiked for sunset on 1/17/20. Started at 4:15, took 25 mins to get to the top by 4:40, watched the sun set from the gazebo w/ Marissa & a cider. Probably left the top by 5, were back to the cars by 5:15. One spot with some slippery icy stairs but otherwise it was a perfect quick trail up to a nice little spot. Was nice to have my first visit to this summit be on a winter evening.

This trail gives you a good cardio work out with a steady incline. There was some slippery rocky areas but nothing to bad. I brought my 11 yr. old with me and he had a blast. Will do again in the spring for the water falls

Date: 23 December 2019. Nice pretty hike with well marked trails. The incline is easy-moderate. Entire trail was without scrambling. Micro spikes would have been helpful for some icy spots but ok without. The waterfall was quite nice; frozen on the day. The small loop past waterfall isn’t much to note. A bit crowded on the first 1/4 of trail as people trot up to the gazebo that offers a sitting area with view of Lake George.

My go to hike for the afternoon/evening jaunt. Nice views of the lake with a wider prospective now with all the leaves gone.

Went to gazebo to try out my new snowshoes. First person out since snow storm. Easy short trail with great views of Lake George. I’ve done this trail so many times. I like the other trail better but it’s not used anymore I don’t know why. This orange trail has been changed to include lots of steps which I find disappointing and I don’t know why they did that.

Hiked on 11/30. Both the orange trail and the blue trail were clear, well marked and heavily used. Nice views of the bay from several stops up to the gazebo this time of year when trees are bare. The blue trail on to the waterfall is wide for large groups and families. We enjoyed this easy afternoon hike. Would like to do this one with some snow pack sometime.

The hike on the orange trail to the gazebo was quick with some moderately steep inclines. The views of Lake George at the top were beautiful! Followed the blue trail to the waterfalls which were awesome. Definitely recommend hiking boots as the trails are rocky with lots of roots and you'll have to cross the water a few times if you hike to the waterfalls. Trails were relatively dry today with a few muddy sections. There's also a rocky section on the way down from the waterfalls on the blue trail. Overall great hike and easy to get to!

Great first visit to Pilots Knob. After I crossed the waterfall at the top I lost the blue trail markers for a few minutes but that made it even more fun. I'll def hit this spot again. Amazing view from the halfway point.

went with two inexperienced adults and two 10 year olds. All the way to the waterfall and worth it. rocky in sports but well marked and fully accessible.

Pooh and I went on this trail yesterday. It was challenging in places to the waterfall. It took us 2.5 hours to do it. the trail was well marked and it was a beautiful hike.

So this was a nice trail. Before you go, look at the details of the map though as I was a bit surprised. First, the look out gazebo is about halfway up the trail, not the final destination. Also, the first mile is about 99% of all the elevation gain of the full hike that ends at the falls. That said, it was steeper than I expected with a toddler in a backpack carrier. Not terrible, but with the fallen leaves I had to be extra cautious coming back down.

A nice little hike with some moderately steep incline to the gazebo. This is family-friendly for parents and their kids, but this might be tough for elderly folks. Lots of people with dogs. I liked the stone steps along the way and the spacious, manicured parking lot. I tried continuing past the gazebo on a trail that apparently leads you to a waterfall, but after walking on it for about a mile I turned back. It's a pretty woods walk, regardless, and can help you add mileage.
