Beautiful lake hike and pretty easy. Kept going a bit further out to the spur which was stunning, great views of the entire lake and not a soul there!

I would classify this as a beautiful walk in the woods to the lake. There are lots of trails from there to explore.

HikingBlowdown

We wandered up Pharaoh Lake trail and veered off to the east to Crab Pond, nice little side trail to see a picturesque pond. Crab Pond trail has some blowdown issues, but is otherwise in good shape. Round trip from the parking lot to Crab Pond is a hair over 6 miles.

HikingGreat!

Trail condition was fine. It's longer than listed because the trailhead starts in father than the main parking lot and you'd need an off road vehicle up get there

Wonderful for beginner backpackers! Stayed at lean-to #4 for two nights, swam in the lake, loved it! Very dog friendly.

Views of the lake were beautiful. We had lunch at the third bridge and watched the pollywogs swim in Pharaoh Lake. **Note: mileage is quoted from where the trailhead starts. You need a vehicle that can travel off-road on order to start from the trial head. If you have a regular car/van, you need to add 4 miles to account for the hike to the trail head. Total miles round trip was 10.5 miles for our trip.

Beautiful trail and lake. Lots of lean tos right on the water, such a peaceful place to camp. Saw only a few other hikers on the last weekend of June. Water was refreshing- lots of fish and snapping turtles along the shore though (lean-to #2) so I recommend jumping out over them where it’s deeper if you’re planning to jump in. We hiked around the lake and the East side seems to have clearer water for swimming. Bugs were out but nothing unbearable, just bring bug spray!

The trail was pretty but the bugs were unbearable. My boyfriend finished the trail, my dog and I turned around not even half way through because of the bugs. Overall flat and easy to walk.

Beautiful day hike with a mostly flat terrain. There were quite a few gnats and no amount of 'deep woods' bugs spray seemed to repel them. Luckily there were no black gnats which seem to be common in the spring. Despite the bugs, this was a very enjoyable trip with many scenic views and varieties of wildlife. There are also a few bridges where some didn't seem to be necessary but still made a very fun alternative to walking on the flat ground. It ultimately ends at Pharaohs Lake where people canoe, fish or relax by the lake or in the provided lean-to.

Perfect trail width for social distancing! We had a blast on this walk. It was easy enough for kids but it was long. We couldn’t drive all the way to the trailhead on the map, you can see by the recording that we had to walk an extra couple of miles to get to the trailhead. It was really nice, a little flooded but that’s to be expected during the springtime!

Super awesome trail for camping or just to get outside. Was decently busy but really wouldn’t know many people were there other than a few walk by’s. Muddy a majority of the walk in but wide enough trails to avoid.

Awesome Hike! Beautiful lake, nice mainly flat/wide trials. About 7.2 miles round trip from the first parking lot. Great first hike of the season! Will return, and hopefully camp next time.
