Only worth going up the path to the right and coming back down. The rest of the loop was pretty boring. Rocky and overgrown

Nice hike, nice views, steep and lots of rocks. Trail not marked well, u can easily get lost and merge onto different trail, at 1 point u have to take a right turn onto a old ATV path, (that part the trail is not marked,) in order to stay on the 2 hour trail. make sure to follow the live map here,

The view is so pretty. Steep hike up though and very very dry and no tree coverage past the stream area. Nice for a quick challenge.

Nice trail, there’s a point where an ATV path (unmarked) you have to turn onto, but it’s easy to spot. Turn right onto it right before the yellow trail splits to the right in-front of you. Really nice viewpoint at the top.

Hiking

Nice trail. It seems to be a horse path for a good portion of the trip. Counterclockwise for sure. Nice view of NY skyline in the distance. Colorful and pretty. Not too hard. Needed this app as parts are not marked. Completed in a little over 2 hours.

Hiked several days ago...not that impressed with the main route or views, but the exercise is great. The equestrian folk in the parking lot are great!!

Hiking

Really fun hike! Here are my tips: 1. Directions to trail head - park at equestrian center 2 Once you’re at the top of red/ yellow trail and have to turn right, you’re turning onto the unmarked wide trail BEFORE where the yellow trail turns right Beautiful and peaceful hike. Moderate climb initially and the rest of the hike pretty level. Overlooks are lovely toward the end and great mountain tops for peaceful reflection. Hike distance was 4.58 mi using my Apple Watch.

Beautiful trail with great views. A few of the turnoffs are sharp and poorly marked so I missed them at first (note, unmarked ATV trail for a good mile), next time I’ll take the loop counterclockwise to get the views earlier on in the hike and let the return be a bit gentler. Just saw a review that this is closer to 5 miles, which explains why it took me longer than I anticipated! Did the last 1/2 mile almost in the dark.

First to Review

This was a great hike. Word of warning: 1) Its closer to 5 miles. 2) On the way back, the incline can get very steep. Slow down and be careful.
